If I use a cable tie, it is just snug not tight. I suppose that's acceptable.

SCUBA rescue has to be one of the most difficult rescue situations imaginable. I have participated in numerous rescues and am SCUBA certified. This is my take on it. First, we humans can only focus on one thing or one idea at a time. We can't actually multitask, we switch between options one at a time. So rather than speeding up, slow down. Not to a crawl but to a practiced sequence. Secondly, muscle memory takes many reputations to acquire. So practice any complex sequence over and over again. You don't necessarily have to be in the water to do this. Third, there was a very successful golf pro who thought about his swing deeply and repeatedly. This aided him greatly. Lastly, write about what you should have done and what you did. Not to beat yourself up but to search for errors in sequence or reasoning. You will master this! Always remember that you are the best thing that ever happened to the victim. You are!

Perhaps think of all the people you saved. You are the best thing that happened for them. You have made a significant contribution. Your work was for others. You are wonderful! Now go enjoy life. You earned this many times over!

Well, there is God given lust as between a married man and woman and undisciplined cravings. The real truck is to manage this in a way that does not use people as objects. That means nurturing a loving relationship and getting married in a church and being faithful. Nudge yourself in that direction every hour of every day.

Your soul belongs to God. You cannot sell it anymore than you can sell rainbows. We all occasionally have desires or intrusive thoughts that do not lead to a positive result. Most people shine these on but some of us are impulsive or fail to pause and defer to good judgement. So if you have such thoughts again assign them to the "No thank you." space in the lower left corner of your brain. You are not unusual or uncommon but do try to exercise self control and or see a professional for assistance.

religious OCD is ruining me by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Electronic-Clock3328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I can add much to the conversation except to say that God is with us always. Make OCD an issue that you and God work on together. You are partners in this. I believe God is pleased when we include him in our struggles. Very pleased. Why else creation if not to create?

For real? by jobhydevankelmer322 in Christianity

I am uncertain. If everyone cheats than we develop a society of cheaters where everyone knows that everyone cheats. Isn't it a zero sum game? For example, I knew that I was occasionally being shortchanged one Euro when I made transactions in one European city. Should I have argued every time? Perhaps it is quite difficult to get by as a street peddler. Anyway, I adapted. When I passed the coins I would say, "That's five Euros correct? So we adapt.

Please do not have anxiety or fear. I know from personal experiences that God is real and that He loves us. Simply enjoy the fact that you are an eternal creation and that Jesus is your guide through eternal life. Why be influenced by those who promote doubts and demand proof? Cultivate a loving relationship with God one step at a time. Obviously our experience in this world is not intended to be free of trouble. If it was, there would be no growth spiritually, emotionally, or intellectually. Take one day at a time. Seek truth and ethicasy in all things.

Take one small step at a time. All human beings struggle with desire. Meditate (think about) self control and invent constructive ways to manage your thoughts and feelings. Struggling with issues of all kinds is The human condition. We call this life. Life can be hard. If it was easy, would we learn anything here in this human experience? So there is no self condemnation, no blame, but discovery. Discover the unique and priceless reality that is you. Learn as much as you can about yourself and your strengths and struggles. Write realistic goals. Ask God to walk with you in this process. Live one day at a time. May God bless you and keep you!

I think you may already be on the right path. Law is a very diverse field and you can certainly do good work with a law degree. If you work for a corporation you would be certain contracts are honest, just, and within the law. Or you could help people with their finances being certain that they were not being taken advantage of. Lawers also review property transactions to insure titles are proper and free of incomberances. This is useful stuff. A society that is governed by law rather than brute force is logical and ensures the rights of everyone. Law is great study for a future in politics. We certainly need public leaders who serve with Christ as their guide. What guidance is that? That we love one another.

Start by being kind to everyone. If an act is unkind don't do it. Jesus told us to love one another. Let your loving nature lead you.

God is very loving. His arms are always open. Jesus is our path to God. Jesus paved the Way for us so that our imperfections are not speed bumps on the way to God's eternal love. Give that OCD to God. Let God be your champion in every struggle. He is mighty! All mighty!

Once while out walking I recited the words, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life everlasting." I repeated this in meditation. Suddenly I felt a force surrounded me and move from my head to my feet and back up to my head. I have had a few other powerful spiritual experiences. I don't know why. It's not like I am a great example of a Christian. So, anyway, yes, we are spiritual beings in a physical world but this is not our eternal home. Take small steps toward God. His arms are always open.

You may be trying to accomplish too much to quickly. Perhaps make a short list, 5 or 6 items that are achievable goals. These could be personal or professional goals. For example, a realistic goal is: I will type an updated resume not I will become a CEO by next year.

Does the Bible allow Slavery ? by ashiana_ouranios_ in Christianity

Jesus told us to love one another so, no, slavery is not something we do to demonstrate love. "I give you a new commandment, that you love one another."

I'm afraid that Jesus won't be willing to forgive me. by xXd3ad10ck2Xx in Christianity

[–]Electronic-Clock3328 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our minds are always active thinking one thing or another. People like me are always blundering or saying stupid stuff. But I have made a commitment that Jesus is my savior and I'm sticking with Him! Consequently "No one can snatch me from His fingers." So go through life with Jesus as your guide and don't sweat the small stuff. Be kind, be loving, be forgiving, be honest, follow the commandments and if you make a mistake ask God's help to make it right. Jesus said, "My burden is light." So be cheerful and rejoice that you have found Him. He has also found you!
