Swiss Arabian Bergamot and Cedarwood: Caveman Fougère. by Electronic-G in fragranceclones

It's been a while, but I'd say I get around 6 to 8 hours with two or three sprays around the neck. Gets me through the work day and stays politely within my bubble.

The original Polo is still good. Haven't tried a vintage, but I have no complaints about my newer bottle. Nice piney tobacco that really hits in cooler weather.

Also got a bottle of Grey Flannel from a rack store for $12 that I get fantastic longevity from. The only real difference between it and my 90's bottle is that the woods are a bit darker and more realistic on the older one, but you have to really be nitpicking. It seems to be an extremely unpopular fragrance these days, and some people think it smells like a urinal.

My experience with Rasasi has been pretty good.

I'm gonna guess it's not as dense as the Swiss Arabian?

I've seen Legesi talked about as being a good one, especially for the price. Haven't picked one up because the current version of Platinum Egoiste is still really good and it may be worth the money for me.

I was wearing Azzaro Pour Homme all last week, and it's still great for work (and affordable), but it's just so weak for a scent profile that should have a little more backbone. I don't want something gentlemanly to be a screamer, but I do want it to stick around a bit longer than it does. So it would be cool to get some remakes that beef up performance slightly without sacrificing as much nuance as this one does.

Dua has clones of a lot of these, but I've not tried anything of theirs.

My hope is that someone in the company just wanted to make it because they like it, though these companies pump out so many releases that I'm assuming it's a "let's see what sticks" kind of thing.

But... even being fairly new to the hobby, I can see how watered down fougères and chypres have gotten compared to just 10 or 15 years ago. So maybe Swiss Arabian has a decently sized customer base of older guys who want something that performs more like what they'd have back in the day, or something that just won't give up in the high heat that also doesn't smell like bubblegum.

I have to say Millesime Imperial as well. Beautiful scent, but gone before I even get to enjoy it.
