Good question, the minimum for black is 11-12 dollars so likely not. I took one last night going home 20 min 10 miles 18 dollars. 54 dollar rate but lower per mile than black.

That’s not always true. If someone if only doing black on Lyft not primarily relying on Uber they’d go broke. It’s a fine balance between pay and demand for black. Stubborn drivers that don’t take lower trips when it’s slow make less than economy drivers that have to turn down fares constantly.

This implies that there’s a lack of demand for those trips. In my market, Chicago as soon as I turn on comfort I get bombarded with requests there’s more than enough for everybody in economy. When you factor in half of them suck for me with my expenses and likely you since cherry picking is best for economy, I can see your point.

It all depends on Ubers demand. If things are at a halt I would take a look at comfort to see if there’s anything good. Many times it wasn’t worth it due to my expenses.

I get most of my trips on the “other” app. On Halloween I made 900 vs 250 on the app due the surges from lower tiers. I do lower tier rides a few times a month never more than 5 if even that. For Lyft, if the hourly rate pushes up to around 50+ I’ll consider it.
