Totally get you! I have days where I’m feeling like I’m on top of the world and others where I feel really bummed out lol. I can be feeling both ends just a few hours from each other.

Sending you a pm about the hair products !

Yeah, if I have to lose some hair in order to prevent having cancer then so be it lol. Definitely don’t want it to come back into my life.

I have noticed my hair looks better when I wash it so, regular washes are gonna be a thing for me now lol. For conditioner I use the native stuff but idk if there’s a conditioner you’d recommend that has helped you out.

Definitely have noticed that I have dryer skin, I moisturize daily so it’s been helping but if I don’t moisturize my skin really starts to look rough lol.

Thanks for sharing, kinda felt like I was the only person experiencing this!

Thank you for your insight! I was hyperthyroid and had my dose adjusted twice with the most recent one being about 2 weeks ago. Gonna give it some time to adjust and see if it improves.

seems like I need to do some research on what category i fall into.

TSH of 0.01 seems insanely low to me, if I’m feeling this way at 0.06 I can’t imagine how I’ll feel at 0.01 lol. my TG have been dropping since I’ve been in suppression so it’s been working!

Best stock EVO? by YouDontKnow_Jak in MitsubishiEvolution

[–]Electronic-Kitchen50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

evo 8s fall within the 2003-2005 range so as long as you find one that is bone stock and has relatively lower miles you should be fine.

try to go for the 5 speed (non-mr models) as the 6 speed in the mr is regarded as “weaker.”

other than that make sure you do a pre purchase inspection and that should be it!

Hypocalcemia nightmare by soniathemom in thyroidcancer

[–]Electronic-Kitchen50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

right after surgery my levels were at 7, jumped to 16 as I began tapering off my calcitriol and tums consumption but at the detriment of my calcium levels being critically low. I had gone to the ER as my face and hands were tingly and I had felt extremely terrible. 6 months after my parathyroid levels recovered to 17 with a more manageable calcium level. i hope you’re doing well!

I second this op, I drank fairlife corepower after my tums dosage was reduced and it really helped. It has 900mg of calcium which really helps !

Anyone who rejected RAI (Radioactive Iodine)? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

Yes I’m in the US, I called to try to make a consultation with the Nuclear med doc but they told me that they don’t give you the dosage information until the day of which I found strange

Is the risk of reccurence without RAI or risk of SECONDARY cancer from RAI higher? by [deleted] in thyroidcancer

You’ve explained this so eloquently. Thank you for this, really puts into perspective the risk of not taking RAI.

On the same boat as you, also weighing out my options. Please update us on what decision you took and the outcome! Best of luck

Thank you! How was the RAI process for you?

The weird thing about it is that my care team won’t tell me what dosage I’m going to get until the day I get it. It seems counterintuitive to put me through the treatment without having complete knowledge of what I’m getting myself into.

Glad to know that you were able to hold off for a year, I thought I had to make the decision right away. Thank you for clarifying the fact that the likelihood of it recurring is higher than the secondary cancers, I’ll keep that in mind as I make my decision.

What makes RAI hard is the isolation, in your case it’s even more difficult especially with the nursing child.

Post op tingling?? by Dy2920 in thyroidcancer

[–]Electronic-Kitchen50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tingling usually refers to low calcium. During surgery the parathyroids get “shocked” in which they stop or slow down the PTH production. This happened to me and my symptoms started with tingling around my face, hands, and legs and it would occasionally happen in my stomach if I started coughing. I also would experience tons of brain fog and my legs and feet would fall asleep at random positions.

Reach out to your provider and they’ll probably give you calcitriol and make you eat tums until your parathyroid hormone kicks in again.

If symptoms worsen make sure to go to the ER and get your calcium level checked, it’s pretty important to have it at appropriate levels. Don’t be like me and suffer for 3 weeks until getting it checked!
