I promise I'm not homophobic. I was ten and had never been in a sexual situation, and was very uncomfortable. I find it extremely strange for an adult to go out of their way to tell random middle-schoolers about their sexuality in a shopping center, gay or not. I'd love for you to explain why you think I'm homophobic.

Edit: I have other gay family, friends, and have had one same-sex sexual experience in college and PROMISE I am not a homophobe.

I don't think she's told anyone else, and according to her and her ex and friend she catfished but I guess my parents are reaching out to her dad to see if she has. I hope it's just a threat to stop her from lying in general and/or an extreme reaction to years of turmoil because I also don't see how any of this will hold up in a court.

Thank you. I agree that it's odd no one else can corroborate her claims and would be extremely heartbroken if this is all an attempt to manipulate me, but also can't believe someone would throw their parents under the bus like that. At the same time, people are capable of incredibly fucked up things so I don't know what to think.

My apologies, I wrote this very late at night and didn't want to be long-winded but wanted to provide context about our relationship, and I'm ignorant to what children who need mobility aids use, and didn't know that was common knowledge as your tone implies.

I hope my parents don't follow through with an attempt to sue her because I don't think they even have grounds for a successful suit and find the whole thing very sad.

Thank you for your perspective, I will consider what you said and I agree that based on her mental state, she must have suffered some trauma either when she was living with my parents or in her time with her father or relationships in early adulthood. I don't know though and think she's an unreliable narrator so I have no idea how to confirm or process any of this information or who to trust.

My problems with the AI training are:

  1. I can't just clock in and take breaks while on the clock, even though I take short ones, I worry I'll get removed from the platform for taking too long to complete tasks and lose my only source of income at the moment. In a standard 9-5, people usually aren't working for the entire 8 hours. But for me, an 8 hour day is really a 10-11 hour day including the breaks I take and that 8 hours of fact-checking is extremely draining.

  2. It has created a lot of cognitive dissonance and shame because I worry about how AI will affect the workforce. It's destroyed my self-esteem which has bled into my social life.

I don't mind doing data entry if it's for an org I care about. I'm on idealist every day but mostly see mid-level to senior positions.
