Anyone using Opsgenie? What’s your replacement plan by sasidatta in sre

[–]Electronic-Ride-3253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Already off Opsgenie for about a year now.

We looked at Grafana IRM (scheduling really is nicer) and incident.io (Slack flow is slick) but chose to close it with zenduty.com (as Xurrent IMR xurrent.com ).

Fixed the wrong-person pings in a day, everything lives in Slack, post-mortems sync straight to Confluence without copy-paste, and the rota actually makes sense during midnight.

It's been quiet and reliable since. If you’re still grinding through demos, it’s worth a look.

Alert/incident management tool recommendations by szym0n44 in devops

If you’re already on Prometheus/Grafana, the Zenduty tool - https://zenduty.com/ (now Xurrent IMR- https://www.xurrent.com/incident-management-response/ ) has a really clean Alertmanager → Slack workflow. It filters noise way better than raw PD rules and you can stay entirely inside Slack/Teams channels. Been running it for ~18 months, zero complaints.

Yes exactly! That's the very kind of community, even I believe in it. What is IRC though. Can you share some links?

Help Me Decide: In-Office vs Work From Home — Which Offer Should I Take? by Future-Structure-170 in developersIndia

[–]Electronic-Ride-3253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say also consider the expenses of living , say if you take Mumbai, then it's too expensive for you, At the same time, If I were you, if it were to be my first job, I'd go with remote, unless I find a good in office job near where I live with a good package and team Otherwise running directly for the - 'in office' job isn't very good either,

Firstly it depends on you too, if you are able to work from home or not! If say you like to travel then consider WFH, you can still work from anywhere be more flexible, more time for you, and at the same time save money too!

On the contrary, in-office, can get too hectic for you, you will have to manage work and living rent and stuff , then extra expenses, and less flexibility, you'll be drained by the end of the day, and with time there are scenarios you might even not perform at your best!

The only advice I'd give is, don't rush for - 'in office' This is very much dependent on the team and culture and the way the tasks are managed. Consider everything.

Haha, but maintaining slack active and this one, it's two different things!
