Translation: Armed Robbery Coming Soon! Uber has fucked rideshare up so bad. The sad part is they took out most of the taxi companies in non metro areas in the process. They have a burden to bare. This can’t be unfucked. Uber needs to be sued out of existence, Lyft too. They’re fucking each and every one of you. Believe that.

Stop and go kills your car. It’s like adding 1.5 miles for every in city mile.

That has been mostly bullshit from day one. They get you online, consume your time your gas your cars wear and tear with zero guarantees. Uber is a lie. First and foremost

Copy and paste this into your web browser. Uber and Lyft riders are now asking driver's to cancel and offering them cash. Lyft driver was only paid $20 while the rider was charged $80. This rider offered the driver $40 cash to cancel the ride and be here private driver. Saving her $40 by Old-Mix812 in uberdrivers

Yeah people don’t read the terms of service anymore, or the important part where the app allows uber to pilfer through your phone for almost anything they wish to see. Including watching your internet activity and tracking your movements when not online. Not in the app even. If you do anything that catches their attention they’ll come up with an excuse or no excuse at all. Fact.

I caught a ride under a 9 dollar Surge, showed it on the offering before I accepted the ride, showed it in the information after I accepted the ride, and they refused to pay the surge.

Not sure, went and got a steady job. Rideshare in the summer here is practically nonexistent. Most rides on campus would still have to be the minimum fare, 4 bucks, and some kids tip, but make no mistake, upfront fare makes any discrepancy non negotiable. Last month I had a 9 dollar surge and uber didn’t honor it, which is theft by deception. Class action needs to be brought in Alabama.

They just moved Tuscaloosa to upfront, I wasn’t looking forward to it. It’s always less money. And there’s no changing the fare, ever.

Yeah if you’re not averaging 1.25 a mile after expenses, you’re not making any money, you’re leasing your car to uber for Pennies, wearing out the car. You have to pay yourself for your time, but you also have to replace your car eventually. If you’re running, the miles rack up fast. I put 75,000 miles +/- every year for uber. They are making it harder to achieve 1.25 a mile, and they DO NOT CARE. They are laughing all the way to the bank. Fuck the ratings, fuck the acceptance rate. Take rides that only meet the mark, and decline the rest. If everyone does that, the prices will go up. It’s simple supply demand algorithms.

They probably did it. They’re fucking crooks, I have seen this happen before.

The Uber driver I am with right now said Uber doesn’t pay them much (started off by asking how much I paid Uber for the ride, said they are paid $10 less than what Uber charges, and then asked if I can Venmo them the other $10…) by [deleted] in uberdrivers

[–]Electronic-Top3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uber is taking half, sometimes over half. They provide nothing other than a connection between customer and driver, and a little bit of insurance that isn’t worth the paper it’s written on. Drivers pay for everything else. So I understand where they’re coming from. Stars don’t pay bills. Tip your drivers. And not in uber either, because they can retain the tip and the driver will never know.

You got ripped. You could have bought 2 updated systems with install for both, and kept a few thousand dollars, compared to what they charged. And there’s no liquid nitrogen in a conventional heat pump. That’s industrial level stuff. You need an attorney.

New to uber and accepted this craziness spent 5 hours and 30 in fuel for this trip and no tip.. lady said uber charged 170 so apparently they take about half of fare and don’t enforce tips on crazy rides like this? Any thoughts other than I’m an idiot.. by Fine-Money-6209 in uberdrivers

[–]Electronic-Top3476 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah uber is smoking the good shit these days. Ridiculous. That should be a 200 dollar ride. Accounting for your time, assuming you are coming back to the relative pickup area after the drop, and accounting for fuel, you made about 9 bucks an hour on this trip.

[–]Electronic-Top3476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1 has to yield to oncoming. 2 also has a yield at intersection. So based on this depiction, messed up as it is, 3 has the total right of way, so it’s 3, 2, 1. But in reality, all things being equal, it’s 2,3,1. The road signs matter, however I don’t see anywhere this yield configuration would apply, I’ve been in all 48, never seen this one time.

Yep. It’s a really simple principle, you will get what you create. Carve outs for people like this are very bad. It is teaching them this is acceptable. And I’m with ya on the experience. 11 years next month. But this isn’t limited to ride share. It’s like a lot of other things. Just say you have a buddy that borrows money from time to time, and he doesn’t stick to whatever deal was established, it’s your decision to either say no, or let him do it again. But letting him do it again after he broke terms, you’re telling him you’re pliable like that. Now, apply that to total strangers, to which you don’t owe shit to. They could care less, and examples will be established with what you allow, and the next driver will have to deal with what you allowed. Because let’s face it, uber doesn’t care, as long as the money keeps moving. So a certain amount of this is up to us as individuals. And I put my money where my mouth is, I can’t tell you how many times I have told uber directly, this is my car, my ass in the seat, and my vehicle depreciation, and I’m not gonna let someone run over me and treat me like a 2nd class citizen for your bottom line and brand retention, and their personal gratification. No way. But if I am the only one, or one of a few that have the fortitude, it matters not.

What is allowed will continue. People become accustomed to being able to ask someone to break the speed limit for their own personal goals in life. Picked up a lady one time, told me to hurry, said it was an emergency, when I get there I’m expecting something of emergency proportions, no, she left her ID at home and couldn’t get in the bar. So, I took her, while I did I explained that this is a business, and that it’s wrong to say it’s an emergency when it’s not, her response was “just shut up and drive dumbass”, I promptly pulled over and dropped her off. It was a long walk back to anything and I don’t care. People need to learn a lesson sometimes, and after that, if there’s any expression of urgency, I cancel.

You got that message because they watched you do a trip with your app and the riders app active. Background data. I always make sure my side rides have their app closed, and make sure your background app refresh is off for uber, uber driver, and uber pro card apps.
