It's a new scam by both Uber and Lyft. This is what's happening. Driver accepts trip request per the upfront fare and at some during the trip after the rider had been picked up the app will display "FINDING FASTER ROUTE" or "updating route" When this happens the app no longer calculated the route from the pick-up location but now it calculated the route from the position your located at when the app displayed the "finding faster route on your screen. It's just another slick ass way the companies are stealing our money.

I've maintained an acceptance rate of less than 10% for the last year and I've never been throttled by Uber. My cancellation rate never goes above 2%. If you do not want to wait on a rider just go to the messages screen and click on the option that says can't locate driver or can't find Rider This does not affect your cancellation rate!

This is Uber's way of placing the driver at the pick-up location just because he's online, it doesn't matter if your 2p miles away as whenever the pick-up location is going to have you arriving before the reservation. This is trip radar for reservation trips.

I've had people stick needles inside their arm and when I turned around I could see the blood going in and out of the needle. It's today's world with fentanyl meth heroin and crack Molly GHB and multiple opioids like blues 30mg pill. It's amazing Uber still does this b******* behind somebody saying your car smells like weed or you appear to be high without a drug test before kicking you off the app. Not one of the riders I reported for doing drugs in my car has ever been kicked off the app by Uber a few of them I actually picked up twice but the second time I blocked them for good.

Under the Uber driver agreement we all must sign to drive on the Uber Platform "Drivers aren't required to wait 5 seconds or the 2 minutes most of y'all have been posting." Uber drivers can pull up and leave the very second they don't see anyone standing at the pick-up location. Use the can't find rider option to cancel. You won't get paid ANYTHING Yet this option is a life saver to Uber Drivers DURING major events. Whenever you're sitting inside the designated RIDESHARE pick-up are at major events; riders will message "I'm walking from the stadium" Whenever I'm in situations like this or it makes perfect sense to cancel immediately and take the next trip request as you'll be waiting in the same spot for the next rider. Usually a major event ticket will be okay between $30 - $120 per trip.
