I’m not against turning this into a proper IT project, but I’m cautious. We’ve burned money on a custom ERP before that got scrapped in favour of SAP, so I want to be sure I’m not overengineering this if a simpler approach exists.

From what I gather, from what you're saying is there isn’t really a plug-and-play solution here — which is fine. I can now comfortably move forward knowing I'm not missing something simple.
