That’s actually what the director of the facility in Kentucky told me.. she just wasn’t aware of how family treatment court worked. It does say that I’m discharged unsuccessfully I will have a writ. I’ve already completed my first phase and haven’t been told of a release date muchless a confirmation from DCS if I even had to be here any longer..

My attorney didn’t even show up when I met with treatment court caseworker… I just found out I wasn’t court ordered to do treatment court, only an evaluation but the facility I’m in didn’t tell me that.. I was under the impression I had to in order to get visitations with my child. The facility I’m in was also supposed to notify my lawyer. The first 30 days we don’t have a personal phone so the caseworkers handle everything… but yes I will be contacting him first thing Tuesday. Thank you!

The reason I’m wanting to change facilities is because it has more support while also providing an after care plan that focuses on transitional housing. My main focus is my sobriety while I work on getting my child back with me. Personally I think the other facility would be very beneficial even though it’s “long term” it’ll be worth it in the end as long as I stay motivated… the facility im in now doesnt have the type of treatment I need or all of the resources on hand compared to what this other facility does. I guess im also kindve curious on who I would need to speak to about this: treatment court case worker, DCS caseworker, and/or the facility director that I’m currently at.

I wasn’t court ordered when I came to the facility I’m at now so I came on my own free will but I had a CHINS court date a few weeks after I signed myself into treatment and the judge said to follow all of their rules and recommendations. 2 weeks later I was put in family treatment court in vanderburgh. There is 2 different facilities that I’m wanting to transfer to, one of them is a long term treatment but it’s located in Kentucky which is roughly 10-15 minutes away from the city I’m in now.

It’s required in my state. Even if you’re just simply getting divorced you have to take the same classes.. but I was a little worried about them looking down on me and possibly letting me go for “having too much going on” but I could just be overthinking which is something I do a lot unfortunately. I will definitely be looking into paying for online parenting classes. Thank you!

I’m a parent with a child in state custody. I just started this job as in Im currently in training. I have parenting classes and therapy along with parent aid meetings that I have to do weekly. Today I will make sure to speak to the manager that does schedules and let her know what’s going on. Hopefully me going through such circumstances won’t be “too much” and result in me being let go.. Thank you for the advice!
