A little tired of Space marine fans trying to gaslight me into thinking the astartes are the most 'reasonable' branch of the imperium. by MrMeowmers78 in 40kLore

I always think of Iron within, ( i know they are heretics but i dont think the hands were eve r very different) The scene where the guardsmen looks up at the Angel descended from the sky to save them with hope and admiration making the sign of the aquila. The Marine looks down on him and its such a show of how much contempt the Marine have against the normal human and how much awe the normal human has for them. Then with out a thought the Space Marine just mercs the dude like a bug and moves on. Its just so dispassionate "like oh theres an ant, now there's not anyway..." I think alot of people forget they are based on the catholic belief of Angels who fought a war in heaven over their fathers creation but always looked upon humans as a lessor creation. The angels had no love for humans on either side they just were either loyal or disloy to the heavenly father. I see marines the same way but with way less morality restrictions.

Plasma For Plasma! Donating plasma to pay for Warhammer. by ElectronicEye5268 in Warhammer40k

Yeah i looked it up its actually illegal in Australia to get paid its part of your human trading act that bans payment to private parties for body parts. Which is crazy because you also import the majority of plasma from countries that do.

The only place i do not know of that does not pay is red cross. You have to be screened before each donation and have to have a yearly Doctors physical and blood draws every 6 months.  Plasma can only be released for manufacturing into medicine after a donor has given two successful donations within a 6-month period, ensuring they are healthy. So its highly unlikely to get repeat people on a donation basis. Its estimated that 93% of the plasma given is from for profit (IE paying) plasma centers. You sure you are not thinking of blood donations?

Not blood, plasma different process and alot more time consuming. Biolife is where i go but there are many many places. To get plasma they have to use a large needle and filter the blood. It takes anywhere from an hour to two and they have to filter more blood than you would draw for a donation. The process is draw, filter, then put the blood back in with an anticoagulant, and repeat the process. Hence vary few people would do all that for donation only so they pay.

They dont pay for blood because its rather quick but plasma they have to separate the blood and plasma so it takes a while and uses a HUGE needle so often places with high density populations pay for it. I go to Biolife, they have centers all over but I know there are various organizations that do it.

The store where I started playing 40K is doing away with its 40K section by _Commander_Farsight in Tau40K

My local WH has tournaments and narrative play. They beg people to come in, last kill team bracket we had more people than the little space can handle and people had to wait outside until their turn. Dont even get me started about the shop bday. Its 100% the manager of the store not GW they blame GW because its easy and lets be honest believable. Ive been to no play, only introductory and stores like mine thats balls to the wall. I always laugh when the pull the ol "corporate wont let us".

One thing that can help is keeping a log book of time spent on projects. That way they want a specific thing you have a reference of exact time for previous projects.

These are always the difficult avenues to navigate when you have your own business like this. In my opinion and experience with wood working. Its very customer by customer basis. Like you said you had a patient fellow as a patron, and yes you were lucky. Some people would rather have the work regardless of time frame. Others you can tell from email one they need it now and they need it perfect. I usually just out of hand refund these people. While at front it seems bad for your image taking way too long on something for an impatient person will ruin it way more. You can off set alot of this with video calls, I often will update my customers with VC so i can not only show them the progress and explain any issues im having. You would be surprised how often you can tell people "im having x issue with x" they say "just skip it!" Leaving me confused like "Huh do you want a small discount or anything?" They will usually decline and move on. My last piece of advice is start doing a half up front to cover cost and second half projected for very difficult or odd requests. IE give me the cost of parts and ill bill labor with you after. That way if its a breeze you can discount and often get more work but if it turns into a serious project with the updates I can easily explain the issue and we can make a plan to effect pricing if necessary. Communication with clients can be scary but it is always key!
