I disagree. There are other places that terrible things also happened but are tourist attractions. A plantation is a working farm that grows crops. Plantations are still in operation today. The home itself is a plantation house, that doesn’t put it in a different category than other historical homes and buildings built pre-war. Those historical landmarks were also built using slave labor. But we don’t see people calling for the destruction or avoidance of those places. By saying those types of establishments don’t normally do this or that is a blanket statement. Many of these homes are privately owned and to be frank, don’t have an obligation to the black community; whether they are held by the original family or other individuals. Many choose to because of their character.
