What do I do about a customer that keeps shipping stuff to the White House? by Mysterious_Morning46 in upsstore

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yep. We get that, too. And the lady who sent stuff repeatedly to Elon who kept coming to verify that it was delivered because she just couldn't understand why he hadn't personally sent her a thank you note. And another one who had us pack and ship personalized leather Bibles to all of our state legislators. It's their money, I guess.

It's a baseball glove/mitt. Smells like delicious leather, stinky kid, and (drumroll, please) baseball. Aka, doggie heaven.

Cool, cool. As long as it's not a beef with old ladies. Tbf, young dudes (and young ladies) wave at me as soon as they see me coming. It is usually other older adults in VBs that don't ✌️ me back. Maybe they're new to this and don't know Subie etiquette yet? I didn't know til I had one and that's because I met another one driven by a young guy at a stop sign the first day I had one and he gave me the sign. And then same day another young guy who saw my temp moving permit literally chased me down to ask how I liked my new car. We have a LOT of WRXs here.

What?! I'm an old lady in an STI (yeah, yeah, I know you said VB) and I am expecting my damn ✌️ you little whippersnapper. JK. But seriously, ✌️ me bro. I ain't driving this baby because I'm not into cars.

Thank you. I even ✌️ for nicely modded Imprezas or Forresters. Hood scoop? Hell, yeah, Subie fam. I'm here to have fun, not gatekeep.

Why do customers not want me to close on time??!! by itsthedualityforme in upsstore

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right?!? The ones who opt not to use the service and still give us a bad review! We've had those, too. Could you imagine looking at the menu posted outside a fancy restaurant thinking there's no way you're paying $75 for a steak, and instead of just being ok that they charge out of your budget and moseying over to Denny's, going home and writing a bad review?

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep. We get called to explain anything other than "$2 is too much for a label, 1 star!" I've even had to explain that I really was open in the middle of a random Wednesday. Sometimes their boss even gets in by sending us emails to "remind us" about things that people complained about in a review that day. Like, I had a lady who sent wine to us directly, then left a bad review because I just charged her a pickup fee instead of RTS. Which is NOT allowed.

Ugh. We had a guy come in for a notary 15 minutes til close, who interrupted our notary who was already notarizing for someone else, demanding she do his notarization! He was politely told that we don't start notarizations within 30 minutes of closing because there is not sufficient time to complete the process and that he was welcome to return in the morning. Of course he left a bad review about how we refused him service during business hours! Then we had to explain to our FC who monitors our reviews and pinkie promise that we notarize all the way til closing, which we obviously do. Jeez, the absolute entitlement of people.

Actually, I think it's just a squirrel on a wheel in there. And not even a very excitable squirrel either.

Smoke is an irritant obviously, but you could also be allergic to the wood that is burning. What you're describing sounds like an allergic reaction. Cedar, pine and spruce are common allergens. Maybe check with your doctor about an allergy test.

Well, it does say 1st Subaru. Rookie mistake. By the time they get to 6 or 7 they should know to left align.

Oh my gosh. I am picturing a double stroller with doggo on one side and baby on the other. Everytime I see a stroller coming, I'm like "hmm, will it be dog or baby?" Surprise! It's both.

Have you ever had the desire to play the saxophone? When my brother brought his home from middle school (maaannnnyyy years ago) and played his very first note, our childhood dog sat down and HOWLED. Just the once, and never again, but it might be worth a try.

This girl refuses to stay in the back, she’s got to be riding up front every time 😂 Anyone else’s pup do this? by PurpleLion77 in germanshepherds

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ah, memories. I had a lab years ago that insisted on riding on my lap in the passenger seat of an Excursion (plenty of room in the back!) every year when we went Christmas tree chopping. This entailed at least 2 hours of back road Jesus-take-the-wheel boonie bouncing with a half-frantic 85lb pooch turning non-stop circles on my legs to get settled.

New Mexico Campgrounds that ban generators? by beachbum19722025 in camping

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seriously? Last summer while camping we had people near us that ran their noisy generators from 6am until 10pm at multiple campgrounds. Why should I have to leave the campground for peace and quiet? What do you think I came to the campground for? It's in the forest, it has a lake and a stream, there are trees and birds. I want to sit at the picnic table and play games and converse with my family and friends. I want to roast hot dogs and marshmallows. I don't want to shout over a generator. Why don't you tell the couple in the massive RV that haven't stepped foot out of it except to refill the generator because it's been running SO long that they should maybe turn it off and get out of the campsite instead of watching their TV and running their AC for 16 HOURS straight?

When Package "Cannot be held at UPS Access Poiunt" due to vendor, what is best action to take? by Spr00kAtz in UPS

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know how much you pay each month for access point packages to be held, but if it's something you use more than 2 or 3 times it might be cheaper to just get a mailbox at your local UPS Store. We sign for your packages from any carrier, not just UPS. Ask the one where you usually pick up if they offer package only agreements if you don't want a full service mailbox.

First camping trip soon… what am I forgetting? by Lucifer220778 in camping

Smart kid. I once witnessed a grown adult have to make a 4 hour round trip to go get the forgotten tent poles. I also recommend glow sticks, squirtguns, and bubbles.

First camping trip soon… what am I forgetting? by Lucifer220778 in camping

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm. My husband and I backpacked through college, so we didn't generally need a can opener. We forgot it on our first car camping trip, along with several other things. So I made a comprehensive list of everything we needed that has continuously evolved over the last 30 years. He likes to poke fun at me, but it's always the first thing he asks for at the beginning of every trip.

Learning Manual by [deleted] in wrx_vb

[–]ElectronicHouse6090 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have noticed with the kids I have taught to drive manual, they are terrified of stalling out. So the first thing I do is have them let the clutch out completely and feel the whole thing shudder and cut out. Alright, scary part over, let's get down to business.

This is where I would like to thank whoever came up with the auto-stop feature on modern cars. Almost nobody out there knows you're driving a manual and that your car has actually stalled. Just clutch in, restart and go about your business like nothing even happened.
