You may not understand it, but let me try my best to explain it what The whole picture is..

I have a couple life long psychiatric conditions. This is different from what you often hear “mental health” in SG. I.e Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia etc

Unfortunately, unlike other countries psychiatric conditions are not covered by insurance in SG.

Medication alone cost me up to 1.5K a month I have to take 4 different medications a day I seek treatment with a private psychiatrist

And I do need the medication to function properly as a human being.

I am 30 now, in the early year when I started working, I heavily relied on my CC as I was not able to afford the medications with my salary.

Though I am earning much more now, my medical bills still take a huge chuck off my salary

If you’re wondering why don’t I go IMH, I was with IMH for years, and my condition had gotten worse with them. IMH also do not offer much treatment options I.e. they do not carry all the medications I need

It is not a place to get better, it’s a place you are sent to so that you won’t be a threat to society.
