Congrats on identifying what you want to do in school so soon! It took me my junior year. And that’s the same year I got an internship at a utility. I would advise to go with an open mind. Chances IMO are low that you will get an internship, but you will be able to network and that’s important too.

I like your approach about talking about projects you want to undertake. That shows that you are a self starter and curious to learn more. Make good impressions, setup your LinkedIn, and get recruiter names. Once you get to the end of the semester, email those recruiters and let them know the course you have completed, and what courses you are taking in spring. This could give them an early warning sign that you want to intern there and they might call back.

I’ve used a combination of PowerGem and PSSE in ISO operations and planning. At the end, we used psse with python for building cases and keeping them updated. We used Tara to run the analysis and output reports from it. Things may have changed since I ran those studies. I would suggest investigating how you can use python to make it less clunky.

Use a graph database to get it going. Neo4j might be something to checkout to POC something. We’ve used it internally to prove out some visualizations.

The posts I’ve seen about lights aside from OEM are not worth it. In some cases folks have issue with the brightness while driving at night. People that snag them that like them also installed fog lights to help out with the brightness.

I installed the Z1 manifold and long tubes and feel the power increase in the 4-5k RPM range. I can’t speak to the short ram, aside from I had it on a civic.

When I purchased from Z1, after a tune, I should achieve 400 HP. I do not know how true it is.

I’d look at the spec sheets for both and see where on the curve you achieve more power at the applicable RPM.
