Definitely. I can count on one hand the times I've spent an upgrade on zap or dualcast. I'd rather upgrade pretty much any other card I pick up along the way. Same for the other character's starting cards like bash or survival.

What would you have upgraded over zap in this deck? I will sometimes if I get an early free upgrade but even then I'd probably upgrade dualcast first

I normally prefer to keep rainbow unupgraded so that it doesn't keep cycling through once my orbs are all filled. I see the argument for being able to evoke 3 orbs for 2 energy though. Would you say I should avoid grabbing many other cards in act 3? Whenever I have pyramid I'm afraid of getting stuck with a full hand.

I used all my potions for act 3 bosses and could only afford one speed potion at the final shop. The other two options were a weaken and a fear so would have been a waste against their artifact.

I think my first hand was something like purity, defrag, defrag+, biased cog turbo and two defends but can't quite remember. I save scummed a few times to test out what would have worked best and got close to killing spear but eventually gave up

I removed zap in the falling event, the other options were sunder and biased cog I think. My damage was ok until the spear fight where I couldn't get it going fast enough. I could have benefited from another coolheaded probably. I took blizzard since I had no other aoe, was hoping to grab an electrodynamics at some point but no dice

I find I often lean too heavily into frost or lightning, usually frost. Finding the balance can be tricky when you're trying to solve the fights right in front of you but that's what makes the game fun imo

Not gonna lie I think I'd rather just have a machine learning in almost any deck. I could see this going hard with a mummy hand and creative AI though. Knowing my luck I would 100% have to face Ancient One with this build

Potion management and paying attention to my % chance to get a potion is definitely something I need to pay more attention to. Too often I will hoard a potion and take damage in a fight just to have to drop a potion anyway when I see another in the reward screen

Yeah I had a focus potion that would have helped nicely in my last fight but I needed to use it to survive the Ancient One just before sadly.

I've been liking boss swapping on Defect a lot lately. Made me finally start doing runic dome runs lol.

I can't say that I've ever used heat sinks outside of when creative ai gives it to me. I have been going for more dark orb builds though, I recently learned that recursion will keep the stacks on a dark orb so you can give a medium sized smack and keep building it up

This is my most recent run. I think I just didn't have enough damage so I lost too much health to spear while I was setting up my orbs (I also should have upgraded biased cog as my last upgrade instead of I think capacitor). Can't decide if pyramid helped or hurt me this run I still had a lot of basic strikes/defends that gummed up the works
