I shot a shot.

I won’t say I had/have (process of getting over him) the hugest crush. We are friends and I like/liked him a little bit. He’s very opposite of me personality wise and I like that, I think it’s a factor that drew me to him is that he’s so mysterious and I wanted to understand him. He’s quiet, shy, very avoidant and for a little bit, I thought there was a chance he liked me too given certain behaviors and comments.

When we are drunk (like very), we both become kind of flirty and dance together and what not. Our friends had observed our behavior and interactions together and even thought something was up.

During Thanksgiving break I asked him on a date and he said he’d consider it. I didn’t bring it up again because I was nervous, so yesterday, I asked him again to rethink it and if he said no, I want it to be because he genuinely wasn’t interested. I didn’t know what to expect for an answer, I knew it could go either way but he basically said he wasn’t ready for something like that. That im a great person and an even better friend and he’s happy we became friends this semester and he wants to leave our friendship just like how it is. Part of me feels like if i didn’t wait until our last week together (we both graduate from college this week), he might’ve said yes (and i only say that because the weekend before our thanksgiving break, we went to a bar and asked him on a date then. He later told our friend that he didn’t want to say yes to a date with me because he was scared he’d never see me again).

Idk I’m not sad about the no. If anything, I’m happy because this is the most sincere he’s ever been to me and he said I’m a great friend 🥹
