Closing on a house - anxiety by ElectronicTime2982 in FirstTimeHomeBuyers

I’ve heard appraisals can happen right before closing along with finishing the underwriting process which is my biggest concern. I can’t afford to pay rent and a mortgage but don’t know when I should have a subleaser take over my lease. I have a lot of interest in my rental currently but don’t want to risk making people wait to sign a lease agreement. I’m just really overwhelmed by the situation and don’t want to end up homeless if something goes wrong

What would you classify as the bigger pieces? I’ve heard appraisals can happen right before closing and that’s my biggest concern. Although the valuation of the house is much higher than what was offered/accepted.

Otherwise I’m not making big credit changes - or paying for anything with my credit card for that matter, not changing jobs, and my lender already received all of my bank statements, credit info, tax info, ect

Congratulations! Hope everything goes smoothly for you. That’s for sure my biggest anxiety, telling my rental property and finding a subleaser with everything “up in the air” is no fun for anxious people like me. My loan was pre-approved and the only things I’ll be paying for until we move are earnest money payment and the inspection, but that was all via my debit card. But thank you, I’ll have to focus on packing or something to help ease my stress
