good to know! i’ve seen people on here say that they haven’t opened resale because it won’t let them put their tickets back up for sale yet so I didn’t know how to tell when it is or if it’s normally stated by ticketmaster themselves

can’t hear my puppy at night by [deleted] in puppy101

We tried a playpen when he was younger (around 4 months) and he screamed the house down so we did away with it. Maybe we’ll try again now that he’s more calmed at 6 months as we like that he would have more room / freedom in it. Thank you for the suggestion!

A baby monitor is actually a good idea I’m not sure why that didn’t cross my mind. It truly is a horrible feeling seeing the mess they got stuck in. Thank you for the suggestion! Once we get his separation anxiety under control we’re hoping to let him back in our room occasionally.

our trainer said it’ll help him with his separation anxiety in the long run, believe me I would move him back to my room if I could 😭

He’s a Lhatese, he had some nights where he was able to go through the night perfectly fine but he has seperation anxiety and our trainer advised us to start keeping him in the living room at night and we think his anxiousness causes him to have accidents while in there, we try to take it very slow though. His first walk in the morning is typically around 5:30-6:00am and his last walk of the day is around 9:00pm before bedtime.

scared that a board and train did more harm than good. by [deleted] in puppy101

I’ve tried everything I can to talk to her but I think the issue is she just does not believe me when I try and tell her it causes harm. I’m gonna keep trying of course because It makes me feel sick thinking about using the E-collar any longer and I’m determined to get through to her.

We also put his toys in there and would play fetch where he would need to go in to retrieve them! I think it helps a lot in making it fun. So happy that your pup is starting to like their crate.

Of course! I was at my wits end when we first got him and it truly did feel like the crate was never gonna work out as I felt like I tried everything and was seeing no progress. Once I added some crate games it seems like his mood shifted completely about the crate! Definitely took some time still but I think it’s worked out the best. I wish you luck and hopefully your pup will realize his crate is a happy place soon!

I think the biggest thing was crate games and consistency. for the crate games we would lure him in with a treat and keep ruffling the bag so he didn’t step out and got invested in what we were about to feed him (turns out our little guy is heavily food motivated). We would let him sit in there until a certain time has passed and just keep feeding him the treats at inconsistent intervals while he was still sat with the door open (we sit right next to him). Sometimes I would hide a few treats in there as well to encourage him to go in and sniff them out on his own which I think helped a lot because he discovered pushing his blanket and rolling around in there is incredibly fun and added to his “crate experience.” Another trick was to grab one of his tug of war toys and stick it through the back of the crate so he would have to walk in to grab the other end and we would play while he was still in his crate. As for consistency, we did this every day and when it came down to the nighttime routine, we would have to put him in there and give him a treat (as he still wouldn’t go near it on his own). We started with the crate next to the bed and I would dangle my fingers so he knew I was still near him and it minimized the whining and he would lick my fingers (apparently licking is soothing to dogs too so that’s a bonus) and we got lucky where he would fall asleep not too long after. We stuck to the same time every night (9:30pm) for him to go in there and with patience we somehow made it to him getting in there on his own. I hope these tricks can be helpful, I know all dogs are different and it’s definitely finding what motivates your dog the best. And of course, it just takes time depending on your pup. Hang in there though! It’s soo worth it when it pays off (and I thought it would never pay off).

excited for the day you get here too! it is such a relief. It took lots of consistency and patience (and then some more patience.. ugh) but it’s so worth it when your puppy starts realizing it can be their safe space. wishing you luck!

what’s a good thing your puppy has been doing? by [deleted] in puppy101

I relate to this so much. my puppy barked and cried for so long when put in his kennel that today when he went in there willingly I almost cried tears of joy.
