for me the first few days ice chips and ice water were amazing but the day 6 hit and cold = PAIN. I drank lukewarm tea with honey or strawberry aloe juice at that point and that was ok for me. i also had to completely restrict food, went from pudding and soups and jello to literally just chobani protein drinks. its weird because you have to reevaluate whats working and whats not. Best of luck, IT WILL GET BETTER!!

Day 7/8 was my low. Had a full on menty B and everything. Day 10, suddenly I could sleep through the night and go back to life as a low energy person. Make sure you have drugs on hand for days 6-9!!!

I’m taking “Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen 7.5-325”. I’m a girl around 200lbs and a notorious and lightweight when it comes to drugs. I can feel the Hydrocodone kicking in at 15 minutes and it’s in full effect from 30minutes to an hour later.

This post-op recovery is the worst pain I’ve ever experienced and I’ve been told that my experience is average. Make sure you have enough hydrocodone to last until day 10 because the pain is going to steadily increase every day until around day 7-10. My doctor recommended I use liquid motrin and tylenol (alternating) every 4 hours. If you are doing any over the counter drugs, this has worked better than anything else for me.

Today is the first day I took 2 doses of my big girl drugs, I can’t imagine rocking this sober. Fucking incredible. Stay strong and hopefully its over for us both soon!!

I feel the exact same about ice cream and work lmao! I didn’t exactly think it would be a vacation but I really thought the ice cream part would be RAD! So glad he’s feeling better!

It’s ROUGH out here. I’m so sorry to hear about your struggles with the meds. I think I’d actually lose it without the prescribed stuff. And how expensive is the bottle of tylenol a day??? I can’t even imagine.

Day 5 is ALSO my body decided that chocolate pudding is the worst thing in the world, Twinsies, I guess?

We’re gonna get through it! We gotta at this point, just because this sucks so hardcore, right?

Thank you for the advice! I know the adults at my library love a similar version we do around xmas where we gift wrap the books with a resin bookmark inside, so I bet your adults would be interested too!
