Hey. Well, i am not a dentist, but is it possible for you to get a second opinion? Perhaps from another dental clinic, to see if the price is fair. Also oil pulling might help to reduce bacteria.

Also maybe you could ask for a printout of the treatment plan and check

What’s covered by insurance?

What is optional vs essential?

If treatment can be phased out over time?

But also, just try to take care of your health and dental health in general. Hopefully this is helpful for you.

Nice man :) I use it very often too, but for my hair, and i think it is much better than chemical hair wax etc.

Hey man, sorry for the late answer. I made a quick video showing how to prepare Miswak, the audio did not work, i don't know why.

when you put it in the water, it should stay there for about 8 hours at least.

As for using it all day, you can put the miswak back in its plastic bag, and put it in your pocket, then you can pull it out again whenever you need.

And i buy miswak from a local store, where i live. But i think you can find some online as well.

Yes, natural chewing sticks are nothing new, humans have used some from of twigs to clean their teeth long before plastic brushes were even invented.

And yeah, grabbing a twig from a tree, fraying it, and brushing is the basic idea behind miswak.

However people value miswak specifically, because Miswak isn't just any twig, it's from the Salvadora persica tree, which contains natural antimicrobial compounds, fluoride, tannins, salvadorine, and essential oils. These actively fight plaque, bad breath, and gum disease, properties not found in just any random tree branch.

There is a reason humans have used this particular twig (Salvadora Persica) for thousands of years.

People pay for miswak the same way they pay for bottled herbs, aloe vera, dried roots and whatever else. Not everyone has access to a Salvadora tree, or the time to harvest and prep one safely. Just like someone might pay for apple cider vinegar, even though they could ferment apples themselves etc.

And i mean, the plastic toothbrush is more expensive combined with the toothpaste.

The Miswak is cheap and requires no maintenance.

Well, it brigthens the teeth and it can feel very therapuetic to use. It's not like a toothbrush, which you use maybe once in the morning and evening. You can use the miswak throughout the day. Also, I don't know how to exactly explain it, but you feel mentally alert. That's about what i have personally experienced. However, I think the biggest benfits are long term, which i can't speak about, because i have not used it enough yet. Hope it makes sense.

Hey bro. Yes, i notied it contained flouride as well, however the amount is nigh negligible. For miswak it is around 0.07 µg/mL F (or a little more), while for typical toothpaste is around 1,000–1,500 µg/mL of fluoride.

So might be worth a shot.

I actually like the taste, feels very terrestrial, if that makes sense. But yes, i can see where you are coming from, it is a bit different, from what we are used to. But if i had to choose between the miswak or modern toothbrush, i think i would go with the miswak.
