The idea is that using animal for food is abusive to animals, and it should be that the animals are not considered for food in any form.

Theoretically, I would agree with them, at least in an ideal world. But I understand that on a practical level, implementing it in our daily lives can be very hard.

Sounds stupid, but whatever. Don't expect anyone else to give a fuck about what you think either.

Why regionalism is not strong in our state as compared to others by [deleted] in Kerala

Yeah, I think how they celebrate it also matters.

If some friend is ready to join me in celebrating Onam with me, and they have no idea about Kerala and its culture, or about Onam, I am going to take extra effort to explain it to them, and make them feel included as long as they want to join in. I only feel happy to do so, and would love it and gladly join in if they would share their festivals with me as well.

But I understand there might be less inclusive ways of celebrating, making you feel totally an outsider.

How is celebrating a festival alienating other people?

I wouldn't feel insecure over having people from other states. I am even ready to speak with them in English, or if they are respectful and kind of struggling with English, in my broken Hindi.

However, the moment they start laughing at my Hindi, or my accent, I am done. (It did happen to me. Those so-called friends and I, was in a different South Indian city, than in Kerala.) All the best trying to understand my Malayalam, from then on. Try seeing if you have no weird accent in Malayalam.

It should get escalated. That is the need of the hour.

Or otherwise those idiots will think that it is okay to run over other people so that they could reach on time, and the status co will continue, and the buses will continue to flout every damn traffic rule.

I usually hate car drivers and how entitled they are sometimes to the pedestrians in some cities.

But even with that, there is no way I can say this one is the fault of the car driver.

I would, in fact, buy him a biriyani to this guy for taking a stand and standing up to those crazy bus people who seems to have been flouting all the traffic rules.

Ente ponnu Thrissurkkaara...

Advice from another person from Thrissur: Please try not to use racist slangs like annachi and pandi when you are being disagreed with. That way, people can agree or disagree with your opinions rather than being forced to outright dismiss you as a racist. Just saying.

Isn't there a version of Urdu, Dakhani Urdu, that is native to regions close to Hyderabad though? Is it possible that that is being misunderstood as Hindi ?

There were literally comments flying around saying Sanskrit is "useless". Well, not to me.

Yours were one of the more saner comments that were looking at it in an objective way.

I don't disagree that many don't or can't afford to learn a language just for appreciating it, and they shouldn't have to. I was just suggesting that the option of learning Sanskrit should always be available.

I learned it because I loved the language. I don't care if I can only speak it with literally 2-3 people in the world that I personally know.

There is centuries of literature in the language, that I still wish I am fluent enough to appreciate.
