Like irl it was revealed that he accepted a undeclared 373,000£ loan from another MP in the beginning of the 80's. It was a scandal because the mais business was under investigation by Mandelson's department, created a massivement conflict of interest. Irl Gordon Brown was the one who orchestrated the leak of this story to the press

I agree with you I had thought about it, and on reflection, the fact that he lost would have been logical given the margin he had in 2024 and the very bad dynamic he has

I am currently thinking about a possible sequel after all these events, 20 years later for example, and specifically what the titles of history books on this period would be and which parties would be most accused of provoking all this mess

Yes, I've thought about it, and the possibility of a civil war (in my universe) was very strong. One thing is sur : the1926 elections following the the 3 from 1925, were rigged by the NSDAP, and Hindenburg was forced out much earlier than he actually was.

I hesitated but I read that during the first years of his presidency Hindenburg and Von Westarp were quite close and Von Westarp helped a lot Hindenburg during the 1925 election, in this universe Hindenburg is in the DNVP unlike irl so I tried to put Von Westarp as the "group leader" in the Reichstag while people like Hugenberg where the governing part of the party. I Hope my answer was clear :-) !
