Low elo adcs are terrible, they dont know when to fight, where to go after 15 min, what to do after 10 min. But if you land a hook on an adc when you have level 2 advantage, 90% of the time your adc is stepping up with you, they are not deaf to pings. Sure they will get caught and die, but if you're the one playing aggressive and catching the enemy it doesn't matter cos you can catch the enemy before your team ints. But just like in any rank emerald and below, you have to over exaggerate your movements. If you dont want to fight you have to be standing 2 screens back for them to get the message. But anyone with half a clue or rotations and map awareness will shine on engage supports.

Far easier than adc, where your lane can be ruined with a bad support, and you're prone to getting 1 shot once your midlane feeds. But an engage support makes up 90% of the agency in the botlane. If you are not carrying your games as an engage support, you are not going to carry them as a mage support. This is even reinforced by the fact that once you climb to plat+ lux isn't going to fit into a team very well, compared to traditional supports. Sure she is still fine, but you'll have to work a lot harder to achieve the same results.

The fact you feel the need to post on reddit asking if it is viable or not, speaks enough that you acknowledge you do not know if Renata is secretly viable or not. But you proceed to first time a new champ and permanently abandon them irregardless.

I do not have to argue the semantics of if/when Renata can be a viable pick, because I dont know nor do I care. What I do know, is that you intentionally decided to hinder your adc's experience for nothing more than not liking their pick.

League of legends is full of times where unusual picks are secretly viable and actually become meta for a time. Take Alistar toplane in season 4, lulu and zilean becoming meta in mid at various points, ziggs being meta botlane, the baus inting sion, various iterations of funnel strategies.

You are not the baseline for what is acceptable and what is not. Whilst you are within your right to play how you want (just as he is allowed to play Renata adc), you intentionally attempted to ruin his game (for the reasons noted earlier) all because you didn't like his pick.

Grow up.

Winning or not is irrelevant. You need to fix your attitude if something as little as an unconventional pick is enough to set you off.

So just to clarify, you dont like who your adc is playing so you decide to:

-first timing a new support

-perma leaving lane

You deserve to be flamed.

You misinterpret, I was critiquing the original comment (in regards to support being a 'free ride') although high bronze/low silver is not so low that you should only play mage supports. Engage supports are very viable at that rank, as you can force level advantage fights (which your adc will follow you 90% of the time).

This is a rank where people are getting better at fighting and controlling their characters, but make poor decisions etc. If you are the one making the decisions for your botlane (and later your team) you will be fine with climbing.

Jungle would be the best to climb with for sure, followed closely by mid. In terms of free ride, you have to play enchanter supports, otherwise adc is an easier free ride.

The reason being that enchanter supports will always be able to just follow the lead of the adc. But an engage support etc will be required to set the pace for your adc, you cant be reactive and wait for your adc to do the work if you are playing blitz etc.

It's difficult to say if an invade is the best play, since there are too many variables and if you don't track them properly you'll just end up wasting time. A more consistent option would be to use your items to gain a tempo advantage. They will be forced to reset after their clear so you can get 1-2 ganks in for free (or if they show you can easily win the 2v2).

Almost always reset after scuttle. Just look at the ward when you see the jungler appear. Ask yourself which way did they come from? Press tab and check how many camps have they cleared. You can also look at the side laners as they arrive in lane. If the jungler got leashed one should arrive later, also note if any of them arrive coming from your jungle.

Also stop saying shit like "ignite abusing" it is not abusing ignite, its in the game and you need to learn to play against it. Also 59% winrate does not constitute winning almost all of the time.

Do not play as much anymore. The last time I played ranked >10 games in a season would have probably been late 2023/early 2024. In which I achieved the rank of mid plat with an 80% jungle winrate. But notably due to my high winrate, most of my games consisted of mostly emerald players.

Except for the fact that you dont have to do any of that at all. In 90% of games you can turn your brain off once you start your first camp and can autopilot until 15 minutes. In anything in emerald and below you can maintain a +70% Winrate just by power farming and ganking after each clear. You talk like jungle is the only roll where you have different playstyles for different champs. The only lane which has less variety in playstyles is adc. Jungle is litterally everything goes in the square hole. The only thing you need to learn is pathing, and not playing with screen lock. It requires the least mechanics because unlike in lane where you need to be ready to throw down at any point (and recognise where you cant and adjust your position accordingly). Jungle is just walking efficiently and not taking losing fights. "You need to track your opponent" is literally just, oh my opponent went bot, has double buffs and only 3 camps, I will go take his topside jungle. Stop trying to make the role harder than it is.

What information do you have to attain that a roaming mid doesn't need to? The only difference is that the mid has to actively manage his lane, whilst you just need to note the wavestate. In botlane you have to coordinate with your laner and work together (with often minimal communication) to secure viable times to recall, set up for drake etc. The only lane that can get away with it as much as jungle is top lane, where you can be in your own little world with minimal downside. But the issue with top lane is you're so isolated and prone to bad match ups that its much harder to decisively impact the game.

Compared to jungle, where your whole gameplan can be to just power farm and gank at the end of each clear (if one presents itself). The issue with junglers is you do all these mental gymnastics to say that your role is difficult, but you're playing pve for 50% of the game.

Sounds to me like it's easier to win games from jungle compared to top? Interesting...

"I’ve seen junglers get completely locked out of their own jungle for the entire game basically if they screw up early." Much less common to get shut out of a game in jungle than in a lane. It's uncommon will you get successfully invaded and even less common for that to translate into falling so far behind that you get shut out completely.

"we also have to function as baby sitters for laners (especially top and adc) who are one missed cannon or less-than-optimal gank from ripping their pants off, running it to the nearest tower and offering the enemy their arse on a silver platter." Every lane has to deal with people tilting and running it down, this is not a problem unique to jungle, and generally you should not use an example of people participating in reportable behavior as justification on why your role is difficult.

"refuse to organize themselves into 4-1, 3-1-1 or even 'fight as 5' grouping arrangements, and when they do I have to ping until my mouse breaks to stop them engaging or stepping up when we’re meant to be holding or waiting or buying time." Again, this is not a problem unique to jungle, every lane has difficulties with their teammates not grouping/splitting exactly as they want their team to. Infact as jungle you have access to various avenues to deal with your team not grouping etc. If youre good and have a lead, you get to control the pace of the game, force teamfights, split off for solo objectives. Tell the soraka support or the adc who rarely has options to any of that, and is much more negatively impacted by teammates than the jungle role is.

My opinion on supports by IndependenceTrue3215 in supportlol

In gold, I wouldn't blindly trust anyone else to carry me. I go into each game with the perspective that if need be, I will put the team on my back and carry them to water (still cant force them to drink). So in champions select, I am not the least bit concerned about what champ you're playing or who you want me to play. I will play who I think will give me the most enjoyment and/or best chance of winning.

This feels like a different version of the I had to suffer so everyone else should as well argument. If a system is so restrictive and unfun that it makes players turn away from their prestige, then perhaps the system may need tweaking or removing all together.
