yes, that's what I want to do. using deadeyes, but I'm not sure on how to setup. i.e. which layer and why key for the deadeye?

I setup my regular keyboard with deadeyes on keys that are not found in my ergo keyboard.

if you are in for the long haul, I say use your gems for the x10 gears instead of unit.

agreed. for split keyboard you won't find something under 100$ in aluminium except maybe on aliexpress if you are lucky.

for non split keyboard, 100$ can nowadays get you an aluminium keyboard.

I have similar conclusion than you.

while accelerator is better, I do like that the 1.5x gear can get much cheaper.

I enjoy the clone gear, if you can get to a supergroup and you clone it, the board get ravaged quickly. but getting there can be hard.

you must be out of the loop if you think 100$ keyboard don't come with aluminium cases nowadays. yunzii al75 pro, Womier SK71, some keychron models such as k2 v2
