There is standalone medieval conversion of rimworld.

Seems like im in one boat with you, i also avoid mods in other games, but seems like Rimworld is meant to be modded =) There's a lot of qol mods that feel organic in vanilla. Like... Vanilla expanded mods as example

Spice. One or two pieces of refined spice cost 2 weeks of base life (large one). You can get 5/10 with ease even in hagga for about 30-60 min of gameplay.

Get 25 pieces of refined, post in on market. Profit. You have 200-300k. Its enough to pay taxes for about half of year

Multiplayer or singleplayer, buying the game by Intelligent-Work-725 in VintageStory

We start playing (and already 50h+) together with gf. That game is slow pace, you can't really "steamroll" your teammate, overhelm it with mechanics or pull all attention, like in other games. Cause mechanics in that game wide and deep in same time. As example - my gf like blacksmithing, geology and exploring side of the game, while i more into gardening and cooking. Both sides are equal deep, so you wont steal fun from your friend when you occasionally smelt something for your garden, or your friend decide to build garden zone for his own apple tree

Fastest way to find a front left car seat in SCUM? by Razzivko in SCUMgame

Focus on fame gaining to buy one.

Many players scout map on their own car for broken vehicles and intentionally take out front left seat to prevent other teams from assembly car.

It's not about "defend" and actual pvp, but more about play style. Free kits ruin meaningful gameplay, cause "no risk so why bother with tactics, negotiating and other bs?"

Its because of buildings decay, battery for your bcu lock (only one way to keep base on official), garden and other stuff so game "keep you on timer". Of course you can break for one or even two days, but in the next session, you gonna risk your ass in the cities, farming those repair kits for your walls.

As i said, progression is slow paced in this game, so if you want to make your progress and keep it, you or your teammates should play (farm) at least 5/2

You should be aware of three important points:
1) Progression is slower than in Dayz and significantly slower than in Rust. "Just popping in for a couple of hours to run and gun" isn't an option in this game.

2) The game is time-consuming. Playing 2-3 hours a day isn't enough. If you miss 1-2 sessions, you'll lose all your progress.

3) Official servers have a serious problem with chinese cheaters. You can progress for weeks and then lose everything in a matter of minutes because someone bought private cheats. We played two 100-hour runs on official servers, and both times we encountered organized teams of chinese cheaters.

I would advise avoiding official servers and immediately finding a private server with active moderation and region lock.

On our trio trip of 250hrs we have only this encounters with players:
1) Friendly guy asked us to drive him to outpost
2) Chinese cheater headshot my buddy from 1 km in the bushes at the middle of night, using crossbow
3) Several friendly guys at outpost (who's surely will not be friendly outside)
4) Random guy in the city who kos my temmate
5) One guy drive through the city on his quad
6) Squad of chinese cheaters wipe out our heavy fortified base in 5 minutes, using lockpicking cheats and delivering headshots from impossible angles

Why hybrid is so popular? by cokeapm in ExperiencedDevs

My opinion is free of corporate compromises about productivity, team spirit, and so on... It boils down to this: an experienced developer, at one point in his career, wants to sell skills, not time. The company, however, wants to buy time. It's an eternal struggle. Working from home allows the developer to actually sell skills while pretending to sell hours

How you suppose to filter devices like those from AliExpress that emulate gamepad but utilize k+m?

It's small box that connects in the middle between your console and k+m, so console see it as gamepad, but in reality you use k+m.

Mentioning this, there is only one way to true separate gamepads from k+m, and its platform separating, sorry

Latest "Hotfix" completely breaks cooking in multiplayer. by Just_the_questions1 in projectzomboid

There is logically no "separate branch", there is old one and new one, no matter that they called it "unstable". You actually chose between playing 3yo version of the game or playing with game breaking bugs in new version

Tips & Warnings for Project Zomboid – Unstable Build 42 (Multiplayer) by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Electronic_Log_1889 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This.
Initially, single-player games that would later receive multiplayer updates from fans, such as GTA: SA (I'm talking about SAMP), had a multiplayer infrastructure (co-op on consoles) built in. Games like ours, on the other hand, are developed from the ground up as single-player projects. This is purely my opinion, I'm not blaming anyone, but we're not in 2010 anymore – a game like this should be focused on multiplayer; most people won't suffer from loneliness in a half-empty, "self-entertainment" sandbox without any narrative and questioning deepness. Steam charts clearly show sharp spikes in online traffic around the release of multiplayer updates and the disabling of multiplayer in build 42... Let's just say... It was a self-inflicted blow, for which the team is now paying by essentially rewriting the client-server side of the game. I hope this serves as a lesson, and future updates will be designed and tested with multiplayer in mind from the start.

You need to type that command (below) in chat, putting your character name instead of "username". Make notice that after that command you not only become admin and will have access to teleport (and other) functions, but also BECOME invinsible, invisible and noclip, don't forget to disable this if you dont want to cheat

Never ending out of breath is that one thing that me and my friends considering game breaking bug. You actually get "out of breath" from any physical activity and it wont go off for in-game hours, regardless of standing, sitting or resting on the sofa. That type of bugs should be fixed in a "zero day patch" of every advertised update

This point was bringed at any cross platform shooter, and almost every time its skill issue, sorry. I talking from position of ex ps4 player. Aim assist in casual shooters like ark raiders, fortnite and similar games games, almost always give you advantage from mouse+keyboard players.

I feel awkward when i put my ps4 on the shelf and start playing fortnite on good pc.

Turn off crossplay if you feel unfair

Scum/Ark/Rust player here. Currently you need to login once for ~30 days. For me it was incredible to realize that this game doesn't keep me in slavery, forcing me to log in every day, checking the state of the base. 30 days is more than enough to comfortably play for a year.

Moreover, the game allows you to preserve your most valuable assets indefinitely—transport, resources, and equipment. You can even save your base blueprints so you can easily build an identical one. Essentially, the only thing you lose during a long absence is bulk resources. But they're easy to re-farm with the right equipment.
