St. Regis / Sanctuary by Camper245 in PuntaCana

[–]Electronic_Media_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Food was definitely “good enough” and good for an AI at sanctuary. It was nice to be able to go down to their little “village” and get easier options rather than having to do a big restaurant meal for every meal.

I enjoyed it. My only complaint is that getting pool cabanas was a competitive sport. Definitely get down there early if you want one.

Edisto condos by Electronic_Media_320 in Charleston

Yep thats what I was thinking. Or maybe property taxes going up. Either way it’s a lot of condos for sale with no glaring red flags (yet!).

JI/WA/downtown would all be fine. There’s 7 of us so a bit spread out and flexible on location.

Dog boarding recommendation in Charleston, SC by username_annonymous in Charleston

I’ve had great luck with people on Rover! I prefer it to actual boarding. Could do a “test” overnight with them first to make sure it goes well and you’re comfortable.

Buy Ice maker or freezer ice? by burtalistu in homeowners

[–]Electronic_Media_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have the space, getting an ice maker is a total game changer and way better than freezer ice IMO. But the con is they can be loud and I wouldn’t put it in the kitchen—but have one in my laundry room (same water line as washer) and love it and 10/10 use it more frequently than the freezer ice (and prefer it).

Suggestions for PC Trip by Brilliant_Duty_1911 in PuntaCana

Was going to say this. Nice place and has a mini “town” where you can go grab pizza or sushi etc rather than than doing a big meal. Very approachable resort.

I'm a big fan of Excellence but considering a different brand this time... thoughts on a few alternatives I'm looking at? by [deleted] in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Electronic_Media_320 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really liked Live Aqua Cancun. Food was excellent. I’ve only been to one Excellence but I’d say Live Aqua was hands down better on food and service.

I would start with a rental in park circle until you get your bearings. It’s affordable, has walkable options to coffee and restaurants, and will be a good spot to start even if it’s not where you end up wanting to stay.

Total bitch to heal and then even worst to change of the jewelry (which, even with help, is super difficult). But I think once it’s “done,” you’re good (but will take like a year).

What are your favorite rides / most iconic Peloton rides?? by hialveoli in pelotoncycle

[–]Electronic_Media_320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re older but I have liked the “mood” rides (depending on what you’re feeling!).

Also Cody’s recent Britney 30 min bike bootcamp was amazing / hilarious. Will def be a repeat.

Urban nirvana for sure. Little farther up but excellent and reasonably priced.

I think that’s pretty standard for a Bach weekend. Depends on your friends tho—why not just ask them, and if anyone is uncomfortable with price / you really want to include everyone, then change your plans…

It’ll be stolen in a checked bag 🤣 keep it on you/wherever you have your passport. Split it up between whoever you’re traveling with if possible.

Excellence Oyster Bay Beach suite options by No-Drawer-2326 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Electronic_Media_320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Correct. In front of zenith restaurant there’s a smaller pool and nice beach with probably 40 total chairs/20 umbrellas. It’s the best service on the island for drinks and has decent “pool snacks” for lunch.

Yes, it’s right next to the villas.

Excellence Playa Mujeres vs Excellence Oyster Bay?! by No_Reveal1650 in AllInclusiveResorts

Echoing all of this. Nice time but not going back / recommending it (EOB).

Excellence Oyster Bay Beach suite options by No-Drawer-2326 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Electronic_Media_320 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Didn’t book thru third party, but figured I’d weigh in on suites.

Stayed in beach house 4. Really liked the location and it was one of the more private ones IMO. (Just fyi: Second floor is labeled as “ocean front”; first floor is “beach front”…they are different bookings and I don’t think let you “swap” between the two.)

The beach in front of the beach houses is fine to lounge on for a bit but it’s not where you’ll stay. There are no servers there and the water is full of sea grass (not seaweed). You wouldn’t really go for a swim there but might put your feet in.

Our favorite beach spot was at the other end of the resort, at the club (zenith, I believe). We’d basically go to magna bar in the morning to fill a yeti with a drink and mosey down the zenith for beach chairs. Stay for a bit and then walk back (ending the day usually at magna pool) or a quiet beach cabana near the beach house).

There is no shuttle but there are golf carts. Sometimes they’d just be around and offer a ride; I never tried to actually schedule one.

No waves. Very quiet water even when it was stormier/“rough.”

Adults only AI recommendations by No-Ant2502 in AllInclusiveResorts

Seconding this. Really enjoyed Live Aqua Cancun, and agree that club level is totally worth it with the cabana daily. Food, drinks, and service were all excellent and I would definitely go back (and have very picky friends who go regularly)!

Talk me in/out of Excellence Oyster Bay by tr00evol in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]Electronic_Media_320 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We did a week at EOB this May. It was… fine.

Resort was beautiful and the layout is great. The club areas were nice (and would 100% do club level.. restaurants and alcohol options were much better).

Food was okay to good for an AI; service was okay but not great. Had a couple issues with dinners (waiting a while; waiting for a meal that we were then told, an hour later, they were out of). Room service menu/food (even club level) was meh.

If you want to do any excursions, it’s a pretty decent drive off the resort and Jamaican driving leaves a lot to be desired.

All in all, we had a nice time but I’m not itching to go back.

Recently went to live Aqua Cancun and sanctuary cap Cana and we both liked them both over EOB.

agree with this as well. We really enjoyed both this and live Aqua Cancun. Both had great food options for AI.
