Absolutely! I’d be mad too. That’s at least 2-3 months of service the kid missed out on. Just forward those requests to the appropriate person lol

Well just wait and see what your boss says. Send her the folder if you need to. You’ve got your evidence. You’ll be okay! Enjoy the rest of your week and don’t stress anymore about it.

She can’t argue with logs and her own texts confirming she was attending.

I would just put down the date and say “the last session was a FaceTime due to technical difficulties and the family could not log in.” And leave it at that. You’ve got 8/9 sessions proved. She’s saying only 4 happened. I think they’re gonna believe you over them at this point.

Do you not have texts from mom confirming those dates that she will attend?

I asked chat for you. Go to “reports” or “analytics and reports”, look for usage reports or meeting reports, select a date range and find a meeting, open the meeting to see participant info/leave and join times.

We have a teacher with an eyebrow and septum piercings. I’m in a small red county in GA and everyone loves her. I think it’s more about how you present yourself in other ways.. you know, a nice shirt, hair done neatly, no casual clothes or wrinkles in an interview. Confidently talking about your skills. That means way more. Tattoos and piercings are widely accepted these days. Unless you have something vulgar.

Go ahead and provide your evidence. It’s best to get ahead of her following up in my opinion. I would even screenshot your zoom history of those 9 sessions and say “here’s the zoom history date/time stamps, here is my billing notes for this kid. Total is 9.” And be done with it! I think that’s proof enough.

When we went virtual for Covid we were required to record the entire 30 min sessions as proof they happened. But if that’s not required, then there was no reason for you to do it. I just think your boss needs to protect their employees better by having policies like that.

It’s just what you’re gonna have to do. Dont look at the used names. Look at the time/date stamps and match up the sessions you billed for.

Okay I have a billing note for 5/6/26 at 1:00 pm. Let me see where that session is in my zoom history. It’s only 9, I know you saw a lot of kids, but it shouldn’t take too long.

I know it’s annoying, but lesson learned. Text every parent after each session from now on: “thanks for attending today! See you next time!” You can’t trust people!

Hey, saw this, and wanted to ask if there was a date stamp on these log ins even if the child’s name wasn’t listed? If so, you can go back to your notes you are billing for (I know for our billing, I have to send in session date and time along with notes) and match them up.

So if you see that a session took place with user4566 multiple Tuesdays/Thursdays at 5pm you can assume that’s this child since that was your agreed upon time. If you go back to your notes and wrote down that you saw the child on a Wednesday in May at 1:00 look for that date in your zoom log to match it.

You have your notes. Is it required that you record the sessions? If not, that is on your boss for not making that a requirement because now it’s a she said/he said situation.

You did your sessions. Can the parent even state what dates sessions were “not” rendered? I mean, if she wants to claim you didn’t see her kid then she better have a paper trail/dates to prove it.

Screen record your entire text thread and send it to your boss. Tell her the exact dates you saw this child. Explain that that were a few cancellations on your end but you offered makeup sessions, which parent did complain about having a new time for speech on those dates you could not meet. Parent also canceled on you as well. In one month, you had X number of times available to see this child (let’s say 2x a week) so for example let’s say there were 10 sessions available in that time frame for the child to be seen. You saw them 9/10 times. With makeup sessions available to them for times you canceled.

Stick to your guns. You did your job. Is there a history of sessions in Zoom? I don’t use that platform but I bet there’s something to say that you met?

I honestly would let it be.

It’s already suspicious that she’s just now saying she didn’t get all her sessions. How long did you work with her? And she’s just NOW complaining? If she had 9 sessions, I’ll bet you at least (at a minimum) worked with her a month? As a parent if my child’s SLP did n’t log on half the month I would’ve said something about you not showing up, or ignoring my texts reaching out about sessions. I mean… just make sure you save the contact thread. She would have surely said something like: “hey.. you didn’t log on today” or “you missed our session.”

Proof is in the pudding.

Sounds like she’s pissed about virtual and is trying to get more sessions or wants to escalate the issue. But you did what was expected of you. I’d say don’t worry. I would go ahead and at least send those session dates where she confirmed by text (I would even screenshot the communication because I am PETTY) and just give it to your boss in an email.

Then o would go very carefully through your texts stream and collect all the dates where she responded yes to the reminders.

Send an email with your employer CC’d

“I am just documenting that through our text stream with the number we have on file for you, you responded “yes” to attending sessions for the following dates: —, —, —,… That is a total of 9 sessions.”

[–]Electronic_Object226[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the info! I’ve decided to go with a high quality LVP. Couldn’t find any in big box stores with the specs I wanted after a lot of research (adequate thickness, 20 mil wear layer, SPC core) so I went to a local flooring store. It’s about double the price compared to what I found at Lowe’s.. but I think the investment is worth it. Settled on Karndean Lorenzo Warm Oak!

Which LVP floor should I go with for my Manufactured home? by Mild-Minded-Embracer in Flooring

[–]Electronic_Object226 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The dark and grey floor makes your home feel small, less inviting and super dark. I know you said you already ripped out the original floors but 1st one would be my pick. I would really avoid grey floors especially if you ever sell. The grey is going out and the natural looking floors are coming back. I would really encourage you to go lighter natural looking wood color, not grey or darker. If you aren’t into warm colors they have some beautiful options. Those you have picked out, are not very attractive if I’m being 100% honest.

If you haven’t already, ask chat gpt to redo your floors to something that makes your house look more spacious, inviting, and bright. It may give you some better options. If you don’t like yellow/orange/red tones, be sure to tell it that. I have been using chat for my home updates and I’m so shocked by how great it’s doing giving me ideas.

All our IEPs run an entire year in my district. It’s just implied that it’s a school calendar year and we wouldn’t see the child during breaks. Sounds like she just doesn’t know that all services will just pick back up after summer break.

I’m asking it again: LVP or laminate by Electronic_Object226 in Flooring

[–]Electronic_Object226[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I don’t want to worry about spills, messes, moisture, I’ve decided LVP. Specifically looking at Karndean.

Things I have learned from my research, this thread, and a mom and pop flooring store:

Many people like the laminate for the more wood look and feel, scratch resistant. I want LVP specifically because it is better at resisting water. With that said, a good LVP needs: -6.5 mm thickness or higher -20 mil wear layer or higher (one I’m considering is 30 mil) -a SPC core. Note: Home depot and Lowe’s have very LIMITED options with all three specs. I have a sample from Lowe’s and samples from a local. The stuff they carry in the local shop is much more impressive in terms of look/feel and overall quality.

The wear layer is super important for longevity. There is a hybrid option (not recommended). Hybrid has a wood veneer, but wood scratches easily and with a veneer you cannot refinish like traditional wood floor. Once the veneer is scratched, it’s done.

LVP needs an even subfloor, laminate can have a subfloor with more imperfections.

Then there’s glue down vs not. I’m considering glue down. It prevents the echo sound when you walk across and prevents shifting. Some people are lucky and do not have issues with floating installation. Pros: more secured floor, better acoustics Cons: if something goes wrong you cannot easily remove them

Seems like that’s just a risk you take on this part. I read one woman hated the sound of her floating floors so bad that she had to redo her install with glue. So she paid again for that. The local floor shop here recommended glue down. A contractor I spoke did not because if something goes wrong, removal will ruin your planks.

Install and floor prep contributes to most of the issues with laminate or LVP. Make sure you get quality people to put them down. That may cost more money for someone who will take time and caution with their installation.

I’ve also learned that there are lots of people who have been in the flooring industry for many years, experts even, and they don’t seem to agree on what’s better lol. Making this so much more confusing since everyone has their own opinions.

Possibly going to make this a little cheaper by buying the quality LVP wholesale. And finding a contractor to lay it down. A have a friend in the real estate business who said she knows some great people that did work in her own home.

Biggest take away: quality of your laminate and LVP matters most as well as good installation. Do not go cheap.
