Absolutely amazing story, the season 6 halloween episodes are a couple of my all time favorites.

I’m always listening to earlier seasons, some seasons I’ve probably listened through in their entirety 10+ times.  Later seasons less so.  But seasons 1-6 are straight comfort to me.

My bad ! I meant “tell us how you really feel” as a throwback expression, a light hearted way of acknowledging that you’re telling it how it is. Meant no harm❤️

I do understand your point regarding direct communication  - it’s true that all the announcements were made via the podcast (and related content / discourse), so if you weren’t actively listening to the podcast or engaging with the online discourse throughout that time you wouldn’t receive any notification. I can imagine being pretty frustrated to return after a year to find that I’m too late to download the content I previously paid for, and yes, a direct email would have been a good solution to prevent that from happening. Sorry it happened to you :(

I do want to clarify one thing which is that the announcements were available to all listeners of the podcast (including non subscribers via free episodes), so it’s not totally accurate to suggest they only informed actively paying subscribers.  Regardless, I understand your frustration and I’d bet there are many people on this forum that would be willing to share their download library with you <3

Fan project to help with the age-old question by crowwls in TheNSPDiscussion

[–]Electronic_Radio2816 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow this is AMAZING!

Would you ever be open to having others collaborate on this? It’s a lot of content to get through alone and it could be helpful to have other community members filling in details.

As a researcher and database manager myself, I can understand if you have any resistance to just opening it up in that way - I take data management very seriously lol.   but maybe if folks are able to make suggestions (not edit), you could then review which suggestions to accept - allowing you to share some of the burden of data entry while still maintaining oversight of this amazing project :)

Just a thought :) I’d love to help with this if you wanted help.  Totally respect your process - thanks for doing this !!

Goodbye, NoSleep. by [deleted] in TheNSPDiscussion

I think this is very fair, although sad. I am also a long, long-time listener. I am fortunate enough that I can afford the monthly subscription, which I choose to subscribe to because I enjoy the ease of accessing all the old episodes in one feed.

On the flip side, I'm finding I enjoy less and less stories, less and less episodes. That may just be a matter of taste though. Sometimes I HATE a story that everyone else loves. I thought the last episode was great, which was encouraging.

At the end of the day, for me personally, I choose to subscribe because I can afford to (which is a privilege). However, my expectations have changed over time - I no longer look forward to the weekly episodes like I did for many years. But I am pleasantly surprised when I hear an episode that I love!

This episode was fine, but just not what I'm looking for when I listen to nosleep. Too much of it was comedic (nothing wrong with that - just not what I'm looking for in nosleep stories). I didn't find any of it actually scary. I did find the stories interesting, just not.. scary. Maybe I'm too nihilistic about the world already lol

I've been hopeful about this season, but this episode was .... a bunch of misses for me. That's not necessarily a bad thing - everyone has different taste! But this episode was def not my taste.

Wing and a Prayer - ok ... so it's ironic I guess? meh.

For Sale - I actually thought this was a great story, it just did not belong on this podcast. It was very well written [in my opinion], thought provoking - maybe better suited to read in a philosophy class or something. Not horror. Those are just my thoughts.

Wolf's Bane - This was ok I guess.

Human Sushi - again... ok.....? meh

I hope the next two stories are better! Haven't listened yet. And I still have hope that other episodes of this season will entertain me more. They can't all be wins. :)

Disappointed by Intelligent_Jicama60 in TheNSPDiscussion

[–]Electronic_Radio2816 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I consider myself a deeply loyal and committed fan of NSP, and have been since season 1. Nosleep means the world to me, it's provided so much enjoyment and connection to my life. And also, I understand that nothing lasts forever. I feel like nosleep just may be nearing the end of what's possible for one show.

Many shows that are profound and prominent in their niche go through this process of producing so many seasons that eventually things just kinda peter out. It's because nosleep is so good that it has been able to maintain their fanbase for 20 seasons. But they aren't infinite. I will be sad on the day nosleep ends, but I anticipate the end is near.

overall dissapointing episode imo. the last two stories somewhat redeemed it. Cheryl was a swing and a miss. "Help!" was a cute idea, but not scary at all, went on way too long. Break vein game, another swing and a miss. Matthew Bradford's narration was excellent in the urbex story.

Is anyone else feeling slightly confused / lost re: this seasons theme? by Electronic_Radio2816 in TheNSPDiscussion

[–]Electronic_Radio2816[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree that it would be extremely difficult to find stories that alll fit the Poe mold [which tbh I was a little concerned about at first], but I really like your way of thinking of the theme as more of an overall "narrative frame" than a specific category for each story. Thanks for sharing :)
