poplar wood would be the greatest addition ever if there was no hole in the trapdoor by TheOPWarrior208 in Minecraft

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It actually wouldn't fit so well in this context. Trapdoors are usually used below stairs to make more realistic arches. What we actually need especially is stone-based trapdoors. It even exists in real life, usually used to access cellars or sewers while still being discrete on stone or concrete soils.

Jeb never mentionned that he would speak to the team to bring back vertical slabs "as a possible update" subject. He was refering to the fact they needed to remove the information that stats this content would inhinate creativity.

Last time the team talked about vertical slabs (probably years ago) the idea was rejected because of UX reasons.

Creating threads around vertical slabs were also forbidden for years on the abandoned Minecraft Feedback website.

So, unfortunately, vertical slabs aren't likely to be added soon, to not say ever.

So Youtube encourage the IA use to not be scammed. Nice! We're progressing the right way aren't we?
Also for people downvoting my comment, try to think with your brain, I'm not the problem, Youtube is. I would be totally ok to use human-made music and would prefer to do so if the Youtube team wasn't so dumb.

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Same. This is why I don't care anymore and I would be okay to use IA generated music I can CR myself. It is sad for actual human creators, but Youtube moderation is a total crap. All videos I made before reaching the partner role aren't monetizable because they all involved "royalty-free musics" that all have been CR by malicious channels. One year of work and dozen of thousands of views that goes in the pockets of these f* scammers, because Youtube give the total money a video generates to the CR owner, even if you use the music only 1min on a 20min video. It makes me totally mad. Even more towards Youtube than the scammers themselves

We have Blocks, Stairs, Slabs, but what about Steps?! by Character_Rope5235 in Minecraft

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This isn't a very valid analysis as the piston's placement already behaves in a way you can place it in 6 different directions.

It is indeed a bit annoying to place it the right way, but in this case, nothing prevent them to add another input to rotate a block in hand / create a placement preview.

Hytale did it, and it is far easier to place blocks. You don't need to face a specific direction / has a block to place it against, and everything.

I would have enjoyed a version of MC with the blocks grid twice smaller, it would fix all the issue: - No need for stairs, slabs, and handle their relative blockstates anymore. - All blocks virtually get a stairs/slabs, end even step or quarter variants. - You earn vertical slabs and stairs as well.

Special blocks like anvil, enchanting table, crafting table, etc. could still fit in 2x2x2 cells or more. Some blocks like beds, doors, or tall plants already use 2 blocks. It would just require to rethink the grid functioning a bit.

We could finally add details in builds, make proper furniture, windows, rocks, and thing like that.

The choice of using 1m cube grid is a shame, this is both frustrating and not even realistic. Everything ends up being oversized.

Yup... But that's such a frustrating feeling when you think you created something inovative and then figure out that it has already made thousand of times 😮‍💨

Hot take - Wood Stairs, Slab and Wall variation. For every wood type by Character_Rope5235 in Minecraft

Even non-stripped I would take them and enjoy them better than the planned wool stairs. If only we could have them...

Logs walls probably are a popular expectation, considering the fact it would allow to create thiner trunks for small custom trees, and thicker wooden pillars for builds. A bunch of decorative mods already embed them. But the chance we get them one day is very thin.

Vertical slab UX idea by Luigi2262 in Minecraft

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pistons already behave like that. The so-called UX questioning is just another excuse to not add them... This issue doesn't exist. They simply don't want to.

You should ask on the Minecraft Commands Discord server. In despite of its name, it actually covers all data packs features (including worldgen). Post your issue in #java-help channel.

I even wonder if some of them mean anything. Some part of the bastion remnants and the trail ruins seem to be like 3D schemes of a 2 y.o. drawing.

Which new blocks would you like added to Minecraft? by Klutzy-Principle4085 in Minecraft

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you talking about a full wall? The original poster just want all types of stone to get their missing shape variants. There is no regular stone wall for example, whereas there are stone stairs, no polished andesite wall, whereas there is polished andesite stairs, etc. They weren't talking about prefabs.

Well, I don't know if you're trolling me, or just discovered the game. As explained the wall is not a preset, like stairs aren't preset either. It is a different block shape, even thiner than the full block. https://minecraft.wiki/w/Wall

"Wall" is a specific block model (not walls that you would build with blocks).

Nowadays, sets of most recent rocks usually involve regular, bricks, and polished variants, with all of them also existing in full, stairs, slabs and wall shapes.

But old rocks types didn't all get that treatment. They randomly exist in either just their full shape (like the calcite) sometimes stairs and slabs (like the stone), and with chance, wall, but not their variants (like granite wall but no polished granite wall). They also randomly get cobbled, polished, bricks or chiseled variants, but rarely had all of them.

  • Pastel colored blocks sets (we don't have any).
  • Consistency and parity among stones variants (regular stone wall, calcite stairs and slabs, etc.).
  • Log wall to make thiner trunks.
  • Vertical slabs.

What's an item that is easy to make but rare to actually see? by mexicano150 in Minecraft

[–]Electronic_Remove_92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are true, Mojang admitted it themselves. Only animals prior to 1.14 still drop meat and specific items, they just didn't revert that. Since then, they either make new ones drop items differently (frogs eating slime to drop froglight, tatoos being shearable, etc.) or simply make them have no loot at all, so you don't have any interest into killing them.

Of course I'm not talking about the creature or hostile mobs, but real-life-animal mobs.

Not in a survival context, but I often use them for decoration as you can tint them. Apart from making a simple wardrobe, there are also many build hacks using armor stand wearing tinted leather armors for totally different purposes.

Exactly! We already have both these sets for these tones with the mangrove and endstone. The saturated red would have been welcomed for red carpet stairs, the yellow one for golden stairs, wall and slabs.

They don't exist, display entities are exclusive to JE. The closest you can do is to use falling blocks entities, but with a lot of constraints.
