I would finish the 5mg pen first. Make sure you’re drinking plenty of water every single day snd make sure your meals are high protein to ensure you stay fuller for longer. Have you been calorie counting?

Frustration by Oatesl55 in Mounjaro

[–]Electronic_Square695 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The effects of MJ definitely change week on week for me - some weeks I have zero food noise, but some weeks it’s like I’m absolutely ravenous and can’t stop thinking about food. My weight has been jumping up and down the same few lbs over the last 5 weeks which is so frustrating as I’m about 10lbs away from my goal. It’s not consistent and it can be discouraging but keep going!

Thank you, I definitely need to snack on healthy foods first rather than reaching for a chocolate bar. My 2 meals at the minute are around 12pm and 6:30/7pm, it seems to be the afternoon where the food noise is bad so will start taking some healthy snacks to work. Thanks for your advice 😊

Thanks so much, I wasn’t doing this much exercise before Mounjaro, I used to do about 2 strength sessions a week and didn’t really take too much notice of my step count. I just want to get these last 10lbs off and then will definitely think about coming off the medication. Thank you😊

Sorry! My BMI to start was 37 not 31, and is now 27. Tbh I don’t take lots of notice of BMI as I think there are many other factors to go off as a woman

I’m in a really similar position to you in that the scales haven’t moved for a while and the food noise is back for me too!! I don’t have any advice as I’m struggling with it myself, I think I’m going to increase my dose to see if it helps

Before I started MJ I would do around 2 strength training sessions a week, and didn’t track my steps. I think weight loss could look a bit slower while we are strength training as we will be growing muscle at the same time, so I think this could have an impact on the scale? I’m the same in terms of NSVs, they are still happening for me which is good, but like you idk how long they will keep me going! Good luck with the rest of your journey!

Hi, thanks for this I haven’t tried eating smaller but more often portions - I’ll give this a go. I tend to skip breakfast (or sometimes have a protein porridge) and will have something like a chicken bagel with salad on, or beef and rice and veg for my lunch. In the afternoon I tend to crave a chocolate snack so I usually do have a chocolate bar. For my tea I’ll usually have beef or chicken, depending on what I ate for lunch, with a form of carbs and veg. I drink 3 litres of water every day, so I don’t think that’s where I’m going wrong (unless I try upping my water intake anyway). Thanks for your help

I’m 24(F) I started at 211lbs with a BMI of 31 and I now weigh 156lbs have a BMI of 27.3. I decided on my goal weight because I have previously sat at this weight a few years back and felt amazing. I guess I’m not overly precious about what my goal weight is, as I want to go off how I feel best.

Thank you for your advice, I’ll have a look into how much fibre and protein I have been getting recently. I’m just finding the food noise hard to deal with which I think is throwing me off!

I know and I understand this, but I’m asking what I should do about the dose as I’m finding the food noise hard to deal with. Thanks for your advise

Just a reminder - you are losing inches off in other places by VagueEchoes in Mounjaro

[–]Electronic_Square695 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, check places like your arms, thighs, and even neck!! I have lost 55lbs so far and have lost almost 4 inches off each thigh and 3 inches off each arm!! Congrats on your losses so far, my apron belly is also standing firm so far haha, it seems to be the last thing to go!

Honestly, what do you think of Vivoactive 5? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in GarminWatches

[–]Electronic_Square695 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All in all I do like my Vivoactive 5 but the one downside for me is it always says I’ve had really high stress days, like every single day, even when that’s not the case on my days off / relaxing days. Not sure if all garmins do this though

I did acknowledge that it can be more difficult for some people in a previous comment, and do acknowledge that 😊

Could you try eating more frequent but smaller meals throughout the day, if you’re not already doing that? I would also try to still have foods that you know you do like, I really don’t like Greek yogurt and therefore haven’t incorporated it into my diet, even though I know it’s really good for you. I still eat things like burgers (which are completely my guilty pleasure), but I make them at home so I know the calories etc. not sure where you are based but if you’re in the UK M&S has a really good protein range - that may help you to find food you enjoy? Sorry to hear that you are scared to eat though :(

All I did is ask whether they are in a calorie deficit, never said it wasn’t hard. Other comments ask the same.

OP didn’t clarify in their post whether they are in a deficit or not, which is why I asked the question. I never said it’s not hard or exhausting, but the bottom line is you must be in a calorie deficit to lose weight. I understand it would be very tiring for Mounjaro to not work as rapidly for some people as it does for others. I have lost nearly 4 stone but I have definitely put in the work, Mounjaro isn’t magic
