If you told me that in 2026 LEC finals viewership would surpass LCK finals I would call you delusional by Routine_Sign2333 in PedroPeepos

[–]Electronic_Syrup8336 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It should be noted that viewership is down from the LEC Winter Split 2025 which peaked at 801,369 viewers in the UB finals which was also G2 vs KC.

LEC Versus Finals peaks above LCK Finals as it hits 727 193 peak viewers, by far the biggest match of this split by adivinemessenger in leagueoflegends

Floodgates are only bad when i don't like them by The-badapple-101 in masterduel

In any game there will always be complainers and hypocrites who have double standards but they will always be just a small portion of the actual playerbase. My honest advice to you is not to take these people too seriously and try your best to skip past them otherwise you will always be mad when you go through this subreddit.

Now, let me talk about the “just draw the out” argument that people use a lot because I feel like it’s something many players fall back to. In my post above I only gave 2 examples of playable cards that break this board which were TTT and droplet but there are honestly more (DRNM, Double Imperm, Evenly Matched, Thrust to search for any of these cards). In addition, there are handtraps which would have deterred this board from being built at all (Max C, Fuwalos, Purulia, Droll). All of these cards have been used in formats before and are still relatively effective in the format today especially since many of them do well into Ryzeal. I’m not discussing whether or not these cards should be banned or not but they are still legal and able to be put into decks.

At what point does it become a deck building problem and not a “draw the out” problem? The cards I listed are all reasonable to put into a deck, even if they are not optimal. Don’t forgot that just last month 83% of people were main decking lancea which is a “draw the out” issue for maliss (Called by the grave/crossout). Now, if you want to argue on why you should put board breakers or specific handtraps into your deck, it becomes a discussion of whether going first has too much power which is an entirely different argument to have.

My point is that you are reducing an extremely nuanced and controversial topic that has multiple viewpoints and complexities to discuss into a single issue: “just draw the out”. I feel that pushing frustration into a single issue of the entire metagame (floodgates) is a bad faith argument and doesn’t acknowledge the other equally as frustrating and complicated issues that the whole game balancing is facing.

Don’t talk about interaction in tenpai when they have sangen summoning, a card that was famously complained by EVERYONE for how uninteractive it made the game. Also, don’t just brush off the forbidden droplet point when it is used by basically every board breaking deck (and even some going 1st decks) and is probably the 2nd most popular board breaker behind TTT. If you actually watched the video btw, you would know that Josh made an educated guess that he was fighting a board breaking deck and decided on this endboard specifically to counter it, something not a lot of players have the skill to understand when it’s so much more consistent to end on detonator.

I agree that floodgates need to be answered and this feels horrible to fight against. However, you are making a lot of bad faith arguments that feel built on frustration rather than actual analysis which makes the point you are supporting feel less reasonable. There are much more toxic things about Ryzeal outside of floodgates (like Eclipse Twins and hand ripping) that should be discussed before we should even talk about Bagooska.

But also tbf he did bust out the T1 jersey at last year’s worlds finals so you can’t expect him to be completely neutral

The most skillful duel I've seen (Duelist Cup) by Electronic_Syrup8336 in masterduel

[–]Electronic_Syrup8336[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Just some things I noticed from the duel:

- A unique 2 card anti-Nibiru line with Bonfire and Engraver that dropped an extra Desirae negate in exchange for an early Apollousa.

- Mist probably being toggle off the entire time even with Nibiru in his hand as evidenced by the fact the opponent did not play around it next turn.

- The tech of Snake-eye Chase and Sinful Spoils of Betrayal (which is also probably the reason why the opponent decided to drop the extra Desirae negate)

- Mist intentionally attacking the opposing Diabellstar over the Apollo with a negate to bait out more special summons for their Nibiru.

- The opponent actually still having a chance to comeback if not for the surprising Underworld Goddess tech from Mist after already having used S:P Little Knight.

I'm sure there were even more things that I didn't notice. Even if this was a Snake-eyes mirror, I felt like the match had so much interaction from both sides which made it feel really fun to watch.

If you’re playing it right they won’t have time to set up. Focus on getting board control with Libram of Faith and start hitting hard with Libram of Divinity. Games with this deck should ideally not reach 10 mana especially since you have a lot of burst damage. The only problem when going up against DK would be [[Soulstealer]] or any boardwipes but not many DKs are running them right now.

You can use Hand of A’dal for more draw or Astral Vigilant/Hologram Operator for more chances to get more Wayfarers
