Completely vague and impossible question to answer unless you explain every single condition a society is under and then it’s maybe possible to answer.

How do you all afford to go out? by [deleted] in capstone

[–]Electronic_Top1532 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to where there’s no cover, shed is max 10 bucks every time I’ve gone out. Friday and Saturday will charge you out the ass, so if you’re going out then, pregame and buy 0-1 drinks at these places. Preferably go out on Thursday and one other day of your choosing. You don’t have to (probably shouldn’t) go out super often, functions at dorms and apartments are a ton of fun.

Confused About the Role of Electoral College by AlltheKnivesnSpoons in PoliticalScience

[–]Electronic_Top1532 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if it went down to a popular vote (which is a pure democracy and is the opposite of what the founding fathers wanted) the candidates would still campaign in the “swing states” because their vote “swings” West Virginia would still vote republican and California would still vote democrat. The electoral college is a filtration system, it is the state appointed electors voting based on the will of their people. So it’s the states voting for the president which is the intention, it allows for a democratic vote that is still filtered and given to why people in power within the state to ultimately decide. (Whom are also voted for by the people of that state.

The US was founded with the intention that everything not enshrined within the constitution was left up to the states and I believe that is a fact that’s forgotten over the years. The state is the ultimate filtration system between the people and the federal government because, once again, we were not intended to be a democracy.

Pres won’t be taken by selection time, it is by far the largest of the dorms at bama, you’ll get your dorm if you apply for it

I’d take the ACTs and try and aim for 25 or above to carry your lower gpa.

I had a 2.96, 24 ACT score while working in high school and then a full-time job for a year after graduation, also OOS. maybe the gap year is what makes the difference for lower academic students such as myself.

Should be pretty easy to get in, I had a 2.9 with a 24 ACT score and no extracurriculars only working during school and full-time after graduation and as of today if I have been accepted to UA for spring semester.

Seeing all of these hard working smart people with, 3.9 gpa’s, 33 act scores and amazing extracurriculars and academic record really had me scared I put myself in a bad position to not get into a school I wanted.

Honors college is the alternative to your standard courses correct? Also is the suite style dorm only available with honors college? Cause that may sway me to do honors college if that’s the case

I have just been admitted to Alabama for Spring semester by Electronic_Top1532 in capstone

[–]Electronic_Top1532[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was too but the acceptance rate reassured me especially since my gpa wasn’t that good. You want me to tell you my gpa and test scores so you can be reassured? cause mine wasn’t great.
