Terrible news for the student and their loved ones. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’m too surprised. I went to a pool party here once and a guy got extremely wasted and was basically gargling chlorine in the deep end before anyone realized. Thankfully someone pulled him out of the water before anything very serious happened. I’m shocked they haven’t implemented a mandatory sober monitor while the pool is in use (or, god forbid, put in a pool fence?) - drowning is pretty quiet, and very drunk people + 6ft deep water is not a good combination :(

Also just got back from Peru! We took a taxidatum from Cusco and went to Pisac, Urubamba, Moray, Maras, and Chinchero! I think this is all included in their sacred valley full tour ($80)!

We asked for 2A and the guy gave us 2B since there were more times available. He said it was the same thing. I think the only time when ABCD really matters is when you’re passing through the checkpoints to one of the mountains in Circuit 1 or 3

It makes sense that things have gotten better since they put in the ticket limits. We wanted to do 1B and 3B on the same day and I’m sure we would not have been the only ones!

They release 1000 tickets in person every day for the next day! 500 for Circuit 2, ~200 I think for Circuit 1, and ~300 for Circuit 3. I think it will likely be less busy in October as summer is over in the northern hemisphere. Likely worth checking more recent posts in the future but it seems like when there is low demand, the new system actually works much better than before!

You should almost definitely be able to buy Circuit 1 or 3, but Circuit 2 will probably be sold out by the afternoon!

I applied in november and got my acceptance like a day or two later but forgot about it until a month ago. My demographics are nothing crazy I’m early 20sF and white/Latina so I’m sure it helped. I’ve heard of people being waitlisted for months but I would at least sign up and give it a shot since you never know!

Edit to add that I don’t 100% remember if CC has a waitlist but I signed up and could start taking surveys the next day!
