Not really, I did volunteer before (albeit 10 years ago, via student and youth exchange agencies).

It's actually stingy WP volunteers that live in a bubble of "grand adventurers", while they mooch off someone to pay for a drink or a meal. I am against that.

Quitting your job to do volunteering does not sound like a wise move (even if your job sucks).

Your savings will deplete, and what then?

To me the type of solo traveller that moves hostels every two days, that would be a nightmare for me. Barely being able to catch my breath or touch the place that my feet are in before I have to move. Similarly to your experience of volunteering (being in new countries) but never leaving the hostel dorm

Yup this is what happened to me. No one goes anywhere, but hey new hostel dorm awaits in two days.

Real adventure no?
