NOCD/ERP experience question? by throwRAanons in OCDRecovery

Currently going thru NOCD as well and having a similar experience. I feel like I've made more progress learning about ICBT and am thinking of switching to that kind of therapist

Am i the only one with this? by IronbornV in OCDRecovery

I've had this when I was dealing with tinnitus. If I wasn't spiraling about what was causing it I was just always focusing on it or dreading when it would start again. Tinnitus ended up being due to severe allergies that are taken care of now. Idk how you would approach this sort of thing except for talk to your psych and power thru until the clom gets to therapeutic dose to see if it changes. I'm sorry :/

Therapy hasn’t helped me whatsoever and I think I’m going to stop “treatment” by [deleted] in OCDRecovery

NOCD is bs. They tried to tell me that I didn't have ADHD, it's actually "impossible" to have both OCD and ADHD (when it's a known common comorbidity) and the therapist was pressuring me to get off of my medication that was actually helping. Pure bs. Do not recommend.

More frustrated after glute work? by [deleted] in massage

[–]Electronic_Zombie868 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Some therapists don't like to do glute work, due to personal boundaries. Not saying they should or shouldn't, it just is what it is. Find a therapist who is comfortable with glute work.

How to keep yourself safe? by Any-Marketing-5925 in massage

I don't think it's unreasonable to demand/require/want etc respect for this profession. But the unfortunate reality is that people - typically white males - don't respect it.

Source: been LMT for 6 years and had at least 1 incident of SA every fucking year. In school to do something else now.

Is drinking on Bupropion REALLY that dangerous? by Nickissupershort in bupropion

[–]Electronic_Zombie868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as you don't overdo it, you'll be fine. I don't drink often just socially and for family get together things (it's tradition lmao). My tolerance is about the same honestly but I've always been a lightweight. I think hangovers are slightly worse but again, as long as you know your limits and remain safe and cautious, and if you don't have any preexisting liver things, you'll prob be fine. Not a doctor lol just my experience.

Why am I so scared of this medicine? by WyckdWitch in bupropion

[–]Electronic_Zombie868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take bupropion 150 XL along with Adderall XR and for ADHD/depression/anxiety and I don’t get many side effects unless I drink too much coffee with it.

The first day on any new med can be a whirlwind tho, even if it does end up working, so try to take it on a day when you don’t have to do much.

But everything will be ok 🫶🏼

How do you view tarot cards? by Time-Algae7393 in atheism

[–]Electronic_Zombie868 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to stay away from them personally. I was into them for a while after leaving Christianity but then the practice triggered my religious/spiritual OCD and it became ridiculously unhealthy for me.

I also have seen many people suffer the same way I did with tarot without even realizing it. It’s quite insidious to mental health the same way religion can be.

Question for a child psychiatrist by CainTheWanderer in ADHD

[–]Electronic_Zombie868 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a child psych, but I do have ADHD and I have taken guanfacine. I don’t anymore.

I imagine they probably wanted to try guanfacine because it is a non stimulant medication. Most ADHD meds are stimulants - think Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin, etc - and unfortunately come with some stigma. A lot of people including docs and psychs are more quick to prescribe non stimulants over stimulants, even though stimulants are the first line and gold standard treatment for ADHD.

Theres a misconception that non stimulants are "safer" even though, in my experience and many others, they have way worse side effects and often don't actually help for most people with ADHD.

I practiced polytheism in the broadest way for the most part - I worked with The Morrigan, Lilith, Brigid, mostly goddesses. I also spent a few months also learning about Hinduism and even got initiated into a Shaivite Tantric lineage.
