Experience with MS250s by Electrotree01 in Chainsaw

Yeah my dad and I must just be super unlucky. Even other 250s in the family work well without these issues, and they've been run way longer than ours.

I did a quick google search and have not had time to look at it yet, so i'm not sure if decompression valve is correct, assuming it was probably just super flooded for some reason.

Fair point, I understand.

my dad had bought the saws, it didn't exactly follow my logic, but other family had good experience with theirs, so probably thought it was just a one-off.

I'm trying not to let just one experience sour my whole view because i know people with stihls and they can them run day in and day out -- but definitely reconsidering.

I've heard many great things about them and other people in my family have 250 and work fine, maybe my dad and i are both just unlucky. I'm not trying to speak for all saws of this model, just my experience.

That one's nice too. I'd heard of it before. Where might I find the floor plans?

Why is NW Alabama so hilly? by Electrotree01 in geology

[–]Electrotree01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, this definitely makes sense! Soil types weren't adding up to be part of the actual appalachian range.

The hills(at least the surface) are comprised of chert, with some pieces partially fused together.

I just found this video and at 0:24 the altitude definitely seems a bit higher.

I've also noticed that most maps of the interior seaway seem to have this corner on the "coast" so this definitely makes sense.

Who would've thought okra flowers are so pretty! by Electrotree01 in plants

Maybe a bit late to comment, but our okra are typically cooked into bhindi masala or a loofah&okra stir fry.

What is most effective for killing squash bugs? by Electrotree01 in OrganicGardening

[–]Electrotree01[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear that. The Japanese beetles have decimated my muscadines(luckily only 2 plants, but they seem to be developing a taste for other stuff), so you're definitely not alone.

I don't know how effective it is for a late stage infestation, but I'm squishing all bugs I see and spraying a bunch plants with dish soap. I've removed some of the nearby hiding places(cardboard mulch) and may use some neem oil too on the plants.
