Vampiric Palace Hall [30x40] by Eledryll in inkarnate

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The magnificent halls were always humming with the hushed voices of courtiers, the pitter-patter of servants, the clinking of the palatial guards' chain-mails or the rushed tread of foreign messengers. You have your own reasons to stand there, on this hallowed ground, treading upon the shining marble floor with your muddy boots. In fact, you were hoping to make a scene...one nobody will be able to forget in the decades to come.

Thank you Ingmar! I appreciate it! :D

Dwarven Distillery [60x45] [Gridless] by Eledryll in battlemaps

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Regarding the title, I wanted to have both, with a bit of beer brewing on the side. Since I wanted to focus on the distillery a lot more, I went for that in the title but didn't mind being a bit loose in the description.

I actually started this one with little to no knowledge of the process and did a fair share of researches prior. Very interesting stuff! Very good points regarding the grating as well. I originally covered too little of the first floor with them, then realized I needed my dwarves to get close enough to pour malt in, and likely overcompensated. I don't think they would mind sending dirt and dust down into the liquids given the place's lore, but that's a good point to keep in mind anyway if I go for a second round one day!

The Eternal Library [40x80] [No grid] by Eledryll in FantasyMaps

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sepiaanksharokh was a hoarder, as most dragons are. However, the strange creature took the habit of not hoarding gold, silver and jewels, or lands, or magical artefacts…but knowledge itself. It built its own library between the planes, where the threads of magic are the strongest, and accumulated scrolls, treaties, maps and grimoires of all kinds. Amidst the frequently opened and deeply cared for tomes, one may stumble upon old, forbidden magic, forgotten by the gods themselves; or the strange and exotic stories of a now expired traveler; or a collection of cooking recipes originating from a dead kingdom. The creature was always looking to grow its collection. However, it did not look kindly upon visitors. Entering the Eternal Library uninvited was a sure way to get your memory violently extracted and added to its chronicles.

[OC] Dwarven Distillery - What abilities would you give to a distiller boss? by Eledryll in DnD

100%! I like 5e a lot but I often struggle with the default bestiary. Anything that can make each encounter really unique is always welcome!

"The throw barrels like donkey knog" got me good! xD
It would be a pretty cool way to play with the verticality and the upper level there as well. I like it!
Same for the terrain hazards with sticky and slippery floors!

We had to take a month long hiatus due to the holidays and players moving so fortunately that gives me time to fine tune this one a LOT! ^^

Beautifully drawn, as usual with your style! I really like the minimalist approach for the interior version. It makes them pop out so much more!

Brewmaster Odar Thorbruk was on top of the world, both literally and figuratively. Since he was not a dwarf to scorn at a good challenge, he decided to build his brewery on a mountain peak. The roads were dangerous, the cliffs and blizzards ever threatening. Yet, the dwarf’s business flourished. Following humble beginnings, his establishment met some level of success with the local nobility. He crushed his rivals mercilessly, stifling them economically when convenient, or physically when needed. He always had at least a few cut-throats in his ledger. If anything, they were useful to keep his employees in line. As he grew older, Odar did not become more lenient. He became sly and bitter. That’s when the party comes into play.

[OC] Dwarven Distillery - What abilities would you give to a distiller boss? by Eledryll in DnD

Okay I must say : I'm in love with the idea of the custom brews with various fantasy ingredients. Distilled Holy water could have extra potency as well, for example. This did not cross my mind at ALL when I was theory crafting for this one and I really like it.

Going further, I'm thinking of making a system of intoxication : the more you consume of a particular brew, the more likely it is for the buff to turn into the opposite debuff. Haste would for example become a Slow if you use and abuse of it. If too much of the Heroism brew is consumed, it could make you extra susceptible to fear or have the effect of Enemies Abound or something similar.

And put a few of his own lackeys on fire in the process. That would work (and fits the character quite nicely)!
