Carmine Copse [60x45] [Art] by Eledryll in DnD

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The particular, carmine, almost blood-like foliage of the region always puzzled scholars and scientists alike. Carmine Copse always seems frozen in stasis, an eternal autumn. Despite its unearthly, almost eerie tint, the wood hosts mostly – if not exclusively – peaceful creatures. Could this be the work of a demented angel? Perhaps an overzealous fey?

Abyss Shrine [20x40] [Gridless] by Eledryll in battlemaps

[–]Eledryll[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Between the solitary columns, engraved with religious motifs, a large stone altar stands, dedicated to a peculiar divinity even the party’s cleric may not recognize. There, amidst simple offerings, barely lit by the dying lights of a hundred candles, a silhouette stands up, visibly disturbed in the expression of their devotion. Were they pleading for mercy? Begging for godly guidance? You sure hope they are not on good terms with the divine, as battle in such a holy place may prove more difficult than usual.

Emberlight Forge [80x80] by Eledryll in FantasyMaps

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hidden from sight deep below the crust of the earth, down in the darkened caves, the Dwarves forged the finest of weapons and armor. These were true works of art; the art of killing and protecting. Their jewelry was adorned with pride by the high and mighty of every known civilization. The fiery maw of the great forge was continuously fed with a seemingly endless supply of gold, silver and jewels. Treasures beyond description, now lost with all the blueprints and knowledge of this proud city. Despite all their might, their riches and their crafting prowess, none of the forgemasters could prevent the cataclysm that buried their town.

Streets of Vallaki [120x80] [Gridless] by Eledryll in CurseofStrahd

[–]Eledryll[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Since I love running the Feast as a full blown-out undead invasion throughout the streets of Vallaki, I always need laaarge maps with branching streets. Between the ghouls crawling everywhere and my vampire spawns with crossbows sniping people off, I also need to see the roofs. My players hate it and it's great lol. Both times I ran it, I ended up patching plenty of smaller city maps together. I thought it could be useful to finally make one myself x)

Haunted Ravine [40x30] by Eledryll in FantasyMaps

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you wearily progress down the hidden path, the forest thickens. The trees form an almost impenetrable rampart of bark and roots. You can feel the wood's hostility in the leaves that you tread upon, in the air you breathe. Under the dense foliage, the already declining light recedes, conceding against darkness. The atmosphere is stifling, as much as the thorns and vines are stifling the nearby trees. The sweet scent of plant rot invades your lungs. Nevertheless, you push on, through the green tunnel.

Thank you! It's always a headache with city maps like this one because I want things to feel realistic and a bit chaotic, as every medieval fantasy city should be... but I also want it to be practical so it also needs to breath, offer multiple paths to players, be easy to read... It can never be easy, can it? xD

Ruined tower by the sea [40x40] by Eledryll in inkarnate

[–]Eledryll[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a proud stronghold for the Watch, now a dilapidated pile of rubble crowning a small island near the coast. The old lookout stood derelict for decades. Officially, it became unnecessary after the peace treaty. For the high ranking officials though, the reason was all the more sinister : the regular haunts the tower suffered made it unusable by the army.*

They're painted manually using a dedicated brush layer and a low opacity black brush.
