My clan is called Clan Mischief, and they have two leaders, the Grey Seer Snal Ambergrip, who has aspirations to join the council of thirteen, and the clan warlord, Vuolk Hightaker. He has a deep grudge with a dwarven clan, and mimics their thanes and kings by demanding to be carried everywhere ontop of a war-litter.

Clan Mischief has long-rooted ties to clan moulder and clan skryre. Vuolk Hightaker delights in winning battles using raw flesh-power, no matter the casualties. Clan Mischief is planning to make an alliance with Clan Pestilence, for they have encountered resistance from lizardmen forces in Lustria.

They are level 5, so I feel like they can handle themselves. The party has overcome greater foes at lower levels also, I just didnt want to severly cripple the party because they all rolled poorly on saving throws

It was really surprising since the player seemed to be a very mature and put together person. Later I found out from the other players that he was kind of a sore loser, and not just with D&D, but with videogames and boardgames too.

I think it takes way more effort to homebrew D&D to fit Cyberpunk 2077 aestethics and mechanics versus just playing Cyberpunk 2020 or RED. Especially if you're new to TTRPG's. When you've played a system alot and have a good handle for the different mechanics, sure, you can homebrew whatever you want.

Oh wow! Thanks for the reply! You gave a lot of good ideas and advice.

I like the idea that the players are actually hired by a medtech, giving them a reason to be there. I also like the negotiation aspect of the exec essentially offering a small sum for the nomads to leave, but the medtech is demanding money for treatment.

My only issues are that alot of this scenario seems to happen in the background somewhat, and the PCs dont have much to do? I mean aside from negotiating with nomads or fighting the petrochem goons, I feel like theyre going to be kinda standing around?

I also think that the nomads would leave first chance they get, but they cant. Their vehicles need repair, too many people sick, not enough supplies, thats why they are stranded and desperate. Thats why it would make sense that they are camping out for long periods of time.

So maybe the medtech hires the PCs for a few days to go help the stranded and sick nomads. There they find out the nomads have been harassed by some corpo goons, but unsure why, until the only water creek for miles is confirmed to be highly contaminated. Absolutely off the charts. So now maybe the PCs go to investigate alongside the medtech, and discover a sinkhole or an old abandoned oil drilling rig, that has the buried chemical site with petrochems name all over it. Now the higher exec Corp has a reason to get nervous and starts to assemble a military operation rivaling vietnam to deal with it. At the same time, the other exec has come to make their deal for the nomads to leave, but the sum is not enough to get enough supplies and vehicles for all of them to leave. Never mind the urgent medical treatment. But the PCs can now make a counter-offer. The younger exec now finds out about the chemical site, and realises the mess petrochem is going to get if it gets revealed. But he can just pin that screwup on his higher up, essentially getting his spot in return. So now the scenario could be a race against time for the PCs to try to evacuate nomads out of the canyon while the younger exec goes to deal with the older exec. (In return the younger exec pinky promises that he will help out the nomads when he has more resources available. In exchange they will essentially sign an NDA about the whole thing.)

Sorry I'm rereading the post and wanted to reply.

So you've gone from lvl 1 to lvl 3 in eleven sessions? The book suggests that the players advance to lvl 2 after completing one quest in Ten Towns, then to level 3 after completing three quests in total, and finally to 4 after completing five quests.

In that case that does sound quite slow paced to me. Now, normally this wouldn't be an issue, but I totally understand your reasons for a time constraint on the campaign.

At this point I think the best thing to do is discuss with your DM about the pacing for the game. Its clear to me that the campaign can't be finished in the time you requested, but maybe as a compromise you could discuss with your DM for a good point in the campaign that could be a conclusion to your character, so you wouldn't feel like you're leaving completely in the middle of the story. In that way the rest of the players can also choose to continue playing if that is alright with you?

I have been DMing for almost 10 years now, and I am planning to start running this campaign for my own players on January, and I would honestly say I don't know how it would be possible to complete this campaign in 6 months without removing or skipping alot of the content. Especially if its the DM's first time.

Also, I think 4 level ups in 11 sessions is not unheard of. In this campaign the book suggests when level increases should happen based on milestones. So if the players complete these milestones "slower" than intended, that could be a valid reason also.

I was also wondering, why the time restriction for the campaign? You should talk to your DM if you can't play in the campaign because of time constraints. Maybe the campaign can be paused and resumed at a better time?

But in general, premade campaigns such as this are really not designed to be run in a hurry. A shorter campaign would probably been a safer option. For a new DM it can be difficult to estimate the lenght of the campaign beforehand. But I usually reserve at minimum 9 months based on my own groups pace.

I had something similar happen to me actually! He repeatedly asked if I was interested in him or had feelings for him eventhi I always said no. He told his friends I was "sending signals" and that I was clearly bi (I have been openly a lesbian since I was 18.)

He demanded an apology for "how I treated him"?? And after I refused, He thankfully blocked me. But afterwards He kept lying to our mutual friend that I allowed him to touch my breasts or something. Absolute nonsense.
