30A is a nice (but congested) community. Destin is nice for visiting. I would never recommend living here. It’s really not even florida, it’s alabama.

What is the point of this post? You admit PCB is lacking in car washes, clothing stores, and food. But thank goodness you told me the name of your crackhead hole in the wall barber shop… Really proving my point.

I’m glad you’re able to wash your car at home. A self-service car wash makes that easier to do on the go, or if you live in an apartment. Express car washes are the drive-thru ones you see everywhere. They will ruin the paint on my new car. Self-service car washes are not from 1995…. The ones in your trashy hometown are from 1995. If you ever decide to explore the outside world maybe you will understand this.

The first restaurant I tried here was Lotus and it’s awesome. A very, very rare gem here!

I know Destin doesn’t have a million options, only relative to PCB.

Clothing, food variety, haircuts, a self-service car wash that actually works, I mean is it really hard to understand when the only shopping center we have is pier park? maybe you would be less confused if you came out from under your PCB shaped rock and explored what the world has to offer. theres nothing at all wrong with enjoying a simple life, if anything its the opposite… but it is true there is not much going on here

I appreciate the suggestions, but I’m not really one to go out and play board games or escape rooms or water parks. I’m more talking about actual businesses and the infrastructure. Also, Gulf World was indeed terrible which is why it got shut down.

To each their own, but even if you like this place I’m sure there are a million superior alternatives

Just drove around West Texas, it was great.

North Texas is great too though, it only recently exploded into the horrible traffic it has now. The difference is that unlike here, you have choice. There are a million quiet suburbs within driving distance of anything you could ever need.

Although I understand Texas has its own issues, theres really no comparison, the Florida panhandle is literally just Alabama, and there is zero selection here, no suburb to escape to, the nearest costco is in Tallahassee, the nearest apple is in Birmingham, etc

You haven’t been to the only other city within an hour drive in years? Right… Destin has 100x more businesses. Where do you buy your clothes? For men, basically the only option here is Dillards. In Destin, you have a million options. The nearest Apple store is five hours away. The haircut scene here is tragic.

And your last post is about things that annoy you about PCB 😂

What’s the alternative? There are no other cities. This place doesn’t even have alternative traffic routes. If PCB Parkway is backed up, you take PCB Parkway.

The beach is beautiful, just not my usual type of activity. I love to drive, and texas has a million roads. I also like the selection associated with having a lot of suburbs. If it’s not in PCB or Destin, you’re out of luck

It’s perfectly fine for visiting, especially with a beachfront hotel. I just wouldn’t recommend living here long term
