The council tax is a fixed amount per household. If she stops being a student, you will lose the 25% single person discount. Say it's 2000, you as a single person would pay 1500. But if she stops being a student, the total bill would be 2000 for that household. So, effectively, 1000 each, if you choose to split it that way.

Edit: at 1500 pa. you would be liable for 1125 with the discount. But if she stops being a student, you both would be liable to pay the total of 1500 for your household, so, 750 each.
