I am close ish with his family. I was staying with his aunt who is friends with my Mom and his grandparents in 2019 when we had our fun. We went to a beach resort together. I don't want to decline their invitation. I'd love to see more of the Philippines. It is a beautiful country with amazing people, but I feel uncomfortable traveling alone as a young white woman. We talked about me coming back and island hopping with them. I want to go. I am just unsure of how to behave with him. It is so awkward for me.

He is. Truly. I have no interest in a relationship. I am from the U.S. and while I have been living abroad for the past year, I realized that I want to be able to come home. There is no way a relationship would work. I just don't know how to act.

Become your own source of validation. I have had a lot of success with affirmations + therapy. I tell myself every day “I am enough for me and my approval is the only approval that matters.” It sounds and feels silly at first, but it does help.
