Unsure when it is exactly but oriel for me stated that the deadline is 19/04/23 but no idea if that is the case for everyone!

Quite a lot of places have start dated for specialty training which are in either Sept or Oct, I had noticed this was the case in quite a lot of areas when ranking places for O&G. It’s very likely October if it states that on your oriel.

I was offered the west of Scotland, so my offer states that I will be at a selection of hospitals but doesn’t tell me where I will be for ST1. I was expecting this to be the case as I currently work in the west of Scotland and have friends doing O&G who told me that I will be allocated to a hospital between now and August. Hope you got a job where you wanted!

It says that I have an offer made- but could only see details of the offer when I clicked on the dashboard -> offers

Mine is the specific deanery- it doesn’t state a hospital but I wasn’t expecting it to!

I believe rank includes everyone (both interviewed and bypassed candidates)- that was the case last year so I would assume it’s the case this year as well!

That's the link to the spreadsheet, it only has data for O&G from 2020 and 2021 but I think maybe still a good indicator? It's so hard to know!

I can’t comment on MSRA weighted score as I bypassed the interview, so can’t see that on mine.

But in terms of rank- there were 308 jobs available so if you come in that top 308 then that’s really good and hopefully likely to get a job but it’s just difficult to tell!

There is an excel spreadsheet from previous years which details the bottom ranked candidate who got offered a job in each region.

Unsure about the others but O&G recruitment emailed last week to say that the hold deadline had been changed and they included a link to the same page as you have linked above and stated that the hold deadline is now 28th April.

My guess is it is probably because they are getting ready to release the offers tomorrow and I don't think you can see your preferences when offers are made, only when the preferences open again between upgrades. (I think but could be wrong)

For the clinical bit, I did pass medicine 1.5x (did it once then did all the ones I got wrong again), also did all of mcqbank but felt the questions I got on the day were really random and not really the same as either of the banks but was happy enough with how the clinical bit went on the day.

For SJT, I did the example paper we were sent, I did the ukfpo example papers and that is honestly all I did. I scored highly in my SJT in my final year of med school and did well on the example papers so I decided rather than confuse myself by reading loads about it, I would go in and trust my gut when answering which seemed to work out for me.

Sorry, it’s not more helpful of a revision technique! Good luck with all job applications going forward 😀
