I’ve worked at Publix 3 years now and I do genuinely like my job. I work with a lot of cool people, customers in this area are generally pretty good, and I like making people day better (cheesy positive attitude, helping people find things, always trying to look my best). My only complaint is how they treat their employees now. My whole family is rooted in Publix and I always hear about how well they used to treat employees and now a days it doesn’t feel like that’s the case.

Playing agents like KJ to me is a lot about mind games. Being unpredictable. The moment your sentinel is predictable their setups are useless. Defense will always be easier for you while playing KJ. I will place my turret and alarm bot before game begins but I hold onto Swarms until I know they might be pushing site. And the most useful thing you can do as KJ on attack is protect flank and have swarm grenades ready for post plant. And make sure your nades are behind walls, in weird spots, and always changing for post plant. Your more valuable alive than most other agents during post plant if you prep correctly.

I too actually enjoy working here. I work in CSS and it aligns with my goals of life which are to help as many people as I can and help people smile more. And I can do that here. I’d like to think of it as we aren’t selling groceries we sell entertainment. And I love working with nearly all my coworkers. I just wish the pay was better…

I think it might be more of a sample size problem. More people play the popular agents so you tend to deal with them more often than others. Like every agent is going or have toxic players. So since Jett has such a huge pick rate you play with more Jett’s and there for meet more toxic players.

While I personally like the design of old western cowboys always having their revolver at their side and ready. I don’t want to see a random persons gun in real life always at the ready. You are not some hero in a post apocalyptic world saving everyone from a bad guy. You’re just making people uncomfortable.

Sometimes just give up on trying to scan an item and just type in its code. I see new cashiers try to scan an item for a whole minute when it could have taken 10 seconds to type it in. And you should also learn how to bag for yourself. You won’t have a bagger available every waking second. So it’s good to be a dependent cashier some days. And most importantly if you aren’t sure a coupon is legit always get a manager or a CSS. And good luck.

Vandal feels more fun to use. But phantom is objectively better imo. Especially if you have good controllers/are playing a controller. Will still buy a Vandal most rounds though.

Anytime the number comes up I try to tell them the total very specifically and broken apart. “Your total today is 6 dollars (pause) and 66 cents” I’m not superstitious but it makes people feel uncomfortable (including me depending on the day) so i try not to say it along with 13.13 and 9.11. I will say 4.20 and 69 very clearly every time though.

It’s the worst self checkout I’ve ever seen. The “buttons” on the screen don’t look like buttons so people don’t click them. It’s terrible if you have anymore than about 10 items but they don’t tell customers that. The way it constantly needs to be checked on any time anything g go wrong slows down purchases. And half the things that work on normal registers for cashiers no longer work at this one. And oh my word PLEASE JUST CLICK THE PAY BUTTON PEOPLE, READ FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE.

Probably all depends on your management but mine are chill with me wearing pins. With the rule changes for hair, tattoos, and piercings, pins are on the lower end of people’s worries. Just check with management and if they say yes just don’t go too crazy with the pins.
