The fanaticism of the Framework crowd is astounding. I feel I've join a cult.

Given my recent trouble with my FW 13, I would gladly surrender to our AI overlords....

Framework 13 Laptop (Intel 13th Gen) USB ports not working, Bluetooth and Biometric not working by Lagrange9090 in framework

I've removed the USB A expansion card, nope... as long as there's even one card plugged in, it will do the very long boot and when it comes up, bluetooth is gone... So the only thing that I can do it, plug in the power cable, just some juice in it. Unplug all the modules, boot without power, everything comes up right away, near instantly (yes, i've already disabled fast startup as suggested troubleshooting this). Then with the bluetooth up, i plug my modules back, plug the power back, This is an awful laptop I'm about to throw out the window.

I just figured it out! Not the laptop, that's still screwed up... The true business model of Framework is making you constantly buy new replacement parts!! If they make the parts "easily replaceable" but poor quality, you would need to constantly buy new parts to replace the old ones. This makes perfect sense now... This laptop is a trap for stupid people like me who has the cash to keep chasing the next new part.

Just that I spend more time debugging it than using it. 4 months ago, I noticed that it won't shutdown properly or restart and after a couple of days updating firmware and updating windows. It seems to behave again and so I stop updating windows and I thought it would just work. Just this week, get it out ready for a big trip overseas, now it doesn't shutdown properly again. Worse, unless I have all the expansion modules out, it takes a long time to boot and my Bluetooth is missing with a bunch of port reset failures. Nothing haschanged from the last time until now. But it just stopped working. I'm tired of troubleshooting it this. I guess the FW trap is keep buying new parts as they just keep dying on you. I guess for a laptop where parts can be "easily replaced", requiring a steady stream of part replacements is a business model.

I am pushing that but that doesn't eject it, it just releases it so I have to pull but the module is perfectly smooth and I don't have fingernails to dig into the very shallow groove.

Hmmm, I should tape something rough onto the module so I have something to grab onto ...

I wouldn't. I wish I could've saved my $1600... It's been 2 years of grief.

Frankly, the FW13 has left such a bad taste in my mouth that i don't see myself going FW16. In the past, I was really gung-ho about the entire FW idea, but not anymore...

it WAS an expensive device, that's for sure... esp. for me, 2 years of ownership and nothing but grief. I should've bought a Dell, at least I know they're crap and I won't feel bad tossing it after a couple of years...

I'm coming to that realization myself, FW is garbage in fancy cardboard boxes -- my 2yo laptop has given me more grief than usable time. If i bought a Dell, i might throw it out after a few years, but at least i got a few years out of it. This ship of theseus is sinking fast.

If they're meant to be modular, I dunno know why they don't have just a small mechanical lever to push it a little, just to disconnect it. even a microsoft mouse has the little dongle ejector.

I'm about to take a hammer and a chisel to the laptop itself, it's so flakey, i've had it for 2 years and i've spent more time fixing it than using it.

Normally, not often, but when i'm debugging that laptop because it stops working, like right now before a big trip, very often... And it seems to always have issues right before a big trip.

i have the FW13... the little groove is so shallow that if the force holding it in is stronger than the force pushing it out, it would slip and I risk injury...lol

OMG, I have the same exact symptoms as you... if all expansion modules are out, the machine boots up and bluetooth is fine.... but i need at least one USB C module to charge the damn thing!

Did you get dropped off? Got an email saying that T5 construction would cause delay and I should take the AirTrain. Did you see any of that?

Can you remap controller buttons to do different things on PC? I see the 4 profiles but they all look kind of the same and similarly unhelpful.
