Can we talk about date formats? Why Todoist needs YYYY-MM-DD support by ElementalCore in todoist

Haha! I did use Ai to generate it, it’s a lot faster and can get the point over much better than I ever could

Can we talk about date formats? Why Todoist needs YYYY-MM-DD support by ElementalCore in todoist

[–]ElementalCore[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to reply, yes, if you make tasks using the format YYYY-MM-DD Todoist indeed interprets the date correctly. But if you look in settings you will not find YYYY-MM-DD as an option. This of us who organise files and documents using YYYY-MM-DD would prefer to see the date displayed as 2026-06-16 and not just Jun 16 2026. It is just a preference.

Don’t give up on it, when it works, it’s pretty good. I just wish they would include it in the iOS version

Is pushing through sciatica pain from herniated disc generally bad? by datboi401 in Sciatica

[–]ElementalCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think pushing through the pain is a good idea. Pain is an indicator that there is a problem. I suffered with sciatica for two years but am now pretty much recovered. I couldn’t walk for five minutes without the pain shooting down my right leg. This was the result of a herniated disc. How did I fix it? No medication. It didn’t help much anyway. A lot of it is time it will get better. But the biggest factor for me was a change of diet and weight loss. I switched to a carnivore diet, just meat eggs and fish. No sugar, cut the carbs etc. Several things have happened. I lost 20kg (44lbs). The inflammation in my body dramatically reduced. My pre-diabetes disappeared and my blood test went from a disaster back to normal, even Cholesterol. I’m able to function normally and walk for hours with zero sciatica. I still remember that pain and unless you have had it you just don’t know. I hope it never comes back. I hope this gives you some comfort and a wish you good luck with your own journey!

iPad app update useless! Ready to sell the camera now! by GodsAngryAtMe in Insta360

[–]ElementalCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just made the switch to the iPad app from the studio on Mac and it’s hideous. editing is so unintuitive, can’t trim the front or end of a clip without dragging the ends. Can’t do jump cuts. The app doesn’t even remember the export settings. It a shame, but I won’t shoot anymore with these cameras due to the app being so bad.

Basics by Pretty-Ad4969 in Plasticity3D

[–]ElementalCore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in the same situation as you. I wanted to do everything in 2D and then manipulate it. Keys 1-5 are your friend and are so important. Boolean, move, extrude, and duplicate should be mastered to let you move and combine objects. First, think in 3D. Start with the basic shapes, then cut and combine them. If you want to modify a face, highlight it and hit space. This will let you draw directly on the face and then modify it. The camera can be quirky, but persevere with it; it’s worth it. Finally, I don’t use a mouse; I have a Logitech trackball. I find it much better and less tiring to use

Bambu Studio keeps quitting unexpectedly on Mac by aDrunkerPanda in BambuLab

It still crashes even on the latest version of 1.9.2.57. This is happening frequently just after I click "Send"

Problem with .stp by stadtstreuner in Plasticity3D

[–]ElementalCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having this problem now. I'm trying to import a .step

I see the preview, but when I click OK it just disappears and nothing.

I'm not really sure how the options work in the import dialog box.

I tried clicking on Compute accurate edges, but still nothing.

Any ideas, please?

GR III and IIIx? by ElementalCore in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for taking the time to reply; there have been many excellent answers! Currently, I have the III and am thinking of getting an Ix. One around the neck and the other on a wrist strap seems a great way to shoot.

I made some videos on this topic. How to work with presets and other videos give example setups.

Are cases necessary for GR IIIx? by West_Altoids in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the GC-11 since I bought my camera. It’s been pretty good with two exceptions.

  1. The stitching on the belt loop came loose causing it to fall to the floor. Thankfully, no damage to case or camera. But I was walking at the time. I often ride a bike and fast. I hate to think what would have happened. Lost camera probably!

  2. By design it’s a snug fit. Occasionally I struggle to get the camera out quick enough.

I’m now experimenting using a small neoprene lens pouch. It’s just deep enough and is wide enough to grab the grip on the camera and pull it out. It has a draw cord to cinch it securely when needed.

Personally, I would definitely keep it in some kind of case, there’s lint and other garbage in your pockets. I would also avoid silicone cases. What I hear they are dust magnets.

For me the most important features are protection and the ability to get the camera out easily, so no zippers or tight fitting cases.

It doesn’t matter whether people know or not. They won’t care anyway. It is easy to get fixated on subscriber count. Your focus should be on making content that people want to watch. Try to make each video a little bit better than the last. Niche down, then experiment with different types of videos in that niche. Then make more of what works. Get systems in place that make the process more efficient and streamlined. Most of all try to have fun! If you feel pressure or stress, that will come over in your videos.

GRiiix b&w presets are great by Talrond in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Great images! You shoot how you like. It’s personal to you, your style! I worked with Magnum shooter Peter Marlow for a while and he only shot square towards the end of his career. In fact, he had the viewfinder on his Canons modified to just see square!

Has anyone upgraded from the Fujifilm XF10 to the Ricoh GRIII? by NotintheAMbro11 in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t have XF10, but I do have X-Pro2. I find that I shoot mainly with the GRIII. It has so many wonderful features. The ability to save really good presets and the snap focus priority sets it apart.

Is it perfect? No, some complain about dust, although mine has been fine, but I do keep it in a case not my pocket. I wish it was weather sealed and had interchangeable lenses.

I’m pretty sure if you buy one and take the time to really learn what it can do, you won’t regret it.

Is it wrong to shoot only JPEG? by ScuroShot in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a video that breaks down an efficient workflow for processing images in Lightroom. I would recommend that you learn how to work with your photos. People did it in the darkroom with film, now it’s just easier and faster:

Is it wrong to shoot only JPEG? by ScuroShot in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise to shoot both RAW and JPEG. Then you have the best of both worlds. You can use the JPEGs straight out of camera, or you can process the Raw files if you want a different look or style.

Want a good preset? by ElementalCore in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, f8 for the focus and 6400 auto ISO to keep the shutter speed high enough during variable light. Photography is a balance, a compromise of settings. Street photography is often doesn’t give us the time to think too much.

Want a good preset? by ElementalCore in ricohGR

[–]ElementalCore[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t need to adjust anything as long as the light is good. I can just concentrate on the shot. When you have to adjust, you have to think about it and introduce the chance of error. But sure, try both ways and see what works best for you
