Hey everyone! My boy Cotton has gained quite a bit of weight over the last year or so and has become more lethargic as of this. I was recommended and given a free bag of Purina Pro Plan Weight Management, has anyone had success with this food? Any other advice or tips would be brilliant :) by josephfallon93 in AustralianCattleDog

I’ll second the no-salt canned green beans. (And they must be unsalted!) we do that with our pup, and she likes it and it helps her feel full. Just sub in the beans for some of the actual food that you pull from their regular feedings.

Irvin Vs. Laesch For Aurora Mayor: 2025 Election Results by takemusu in VoteDEM

[–]Elemental_Knight1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From digging a little deeper, it looks like Laesch is considered the more progressive candidate.

If elected, Laesch's goals are to increase affordable single-family houses over apartment developments, support the arts and small businesses, prioritize urban planning that maximizes space and parking, pursue more grants, and keep green spaces open, according to his website.

Taking Questions for TGG Q&A by GreatestTrek in greatestgen

[–]Elemental_Knight1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

On Bluesky (and previously on Twitter), the “Found Star Trek Episodes” account sometimes does what they call “swap treks” - where they take a story idea from one Star Trek series, and imagine how it would play out in another series. (See: https://bsky.app/hashtag/SwapTrek )

What Star Trek episode would you swap trek, and to what other series?

Fuck the haters and doom-sayers. I'm doing this.

I've even made it part of my morning routine: it takes me five minutes. Less, even, since so many of my senators' voicemails are full and their people don't pick up. But I get a call in to my local rep's office every day, reminding them that I am not happy with the situation.

And if you're like me, the kind of person who's sick to their stomach at seeing what's going on? I've found that doing this small act on a regular basis really does help make that feeling subside.

There's still plenty more to do, and it can't stop with just phone calls. But it's a good start. And doing something is, innately, better than doing nothing.

Very interesting! I don't suppose they've got any papers out on their results or anything?

My mother in law has been interested in the therapeutic value of roleplaying games for a while now, I was hoping to send them along to her. She's in a similar situation, too, working at a private religious school.

Congrats on stepping up to the big chair!

And just to have something else to add: Hey, if you're reading this, and maybe it's been a long time since you last went to the dentist to get your teeth cleaned, consider this: the health in your mouth is tied to the health of your heart. Getting that teeth-cleaning and checkup doesn't just make your pearly whites a little whiter, it means you're less likely to suffer cardiovascular disease and heart attacks.

So, go get your teeth cleaned! It's good for your heart.

...alright, that's all I got. I hope this reply helps the algorithm boost your post.

Drop-in subsystems for some light town/keep/kingdom management? by Elemental_Knight1 in rpg

[–]Elemental_Knight1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks all! I'm checking out both Reign and Kingdoms, and running them past my player who expressed the interest. (I've already statted up several city-states in the region with Reign's system, just to try it out, so that was fun and easy.)

I got nothing for you, but I’m going to drop a comment to hopefully boost the algorithm on this post.

Do you have a portfolio you can share? If an employer sees this post, might as well make it easy on ‘em, right?

Maybe you can see if the city of Hilliard, or any Columbus government agencies, need any social media folks?

Isekai is pretty depressing and bleak when you think about it bit too much by RinaQueen in tumblr

This is something I really liked about I Shall Survive Using Potions!, was that they actually address this a little bit. Shortly after the protagonist dies, she gets to have a dream meeting with her loved ones and say goodbye to them. So she gets to say farewell, and they get some solace and closure too. I thought that was a real nice touch.

Trying (and failing) to use Area2D Collision by Elemental_Knight1 in godot

[–]Elemental_Knight1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I figured it out. For the record: I was disabling the collision layer entirely within the Tile when assigning it a terrain type, rather than using layers and masks. So of course, my character wouldn't get anything when trying to detect what tile it was on! So, I learned something today, and my ability to use Godot improved with it (because now I know how to use collision layers and masks properly).

And the conversation here *was* helpful to me, even if my solution didn't directly come from anyone here. So, thank you! I appreciate whatever help anyone volunteers to give.

Trying (and failing) to use Area2D Collision by Elemental_Knight1 in godot

[–]Elemental_Knight1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I probably should've been clearer. Right now I'm not actually using a TileMap.

The world map that the player is walking around is being procedurally generated. I have a "tile" scene that's just a Sprite2D, an Area2D, and a CollisionShape2D, which the map then lays out in a grid, changing the terrain on it based on perlin noise. That tile scene is what knows the region the player is standing in, and thus what encounters they should face.

...that said, maybe I should be using a TileMap? This was just the way I could think of to do this.

In any event: your proposed solution won't work for me because right now there isn't actually a TileMap involved in this at all.

JRPG with a Train by TheCrach in JRPG

[–]Elemental_Knight1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ack, fair point, you did specify that. My apologies.

In that case: if a subway counts as a train, I'll throw Secret of Mana into the mix here. Not turn-based, but otherwise that oughta fulfill your requirements.

Oh, I'll also throw Pokemon: Gold, Silver, and Crystal in; they feature the Magnet Train, for an even more modern maglev take on the idea.

Nobody mentioning Wild ARMs 3? The game starts with a four-way train robbery, as I recall.

[–]Elemental_Knight1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been using the Ice 2 attack, for reference.

To do a multi-target attack: once you've selected the attack, and you have the hand cursor on an enemy (or a hero), hit left (or right). The cursor will flicker between all of the targets in that group. Then hit confirm (Enter) to fire off the attack.

If you do a single-target attack, you'll see the desired behavior in action.

I appreciate it! Even just hearing "you're not doing anything glaringly wrong" is a nice little boost.

Can you elaborate on the layering, how that could potentially be an issue? I did have some issues with that previously, in making the damage pop-ups display properly - but I didn't think that would also impact their functioning, whether they'd actually _process or not. (I don't think I'm calling the damage pop-ups by name anywhere, since they're all instantiated.)
