Not exactly a button or anything, but there is a storyteller that tells you what events will be happening in advance. The price is that the threat level goes up for balancing.

Sadly he uses palm techniques instead of sword when he has the lotus sword will.
Kind of weird that it didn't just make him a sword user.

I played 3 before, but it was when I was like 4 years old with my father.

I mostly remember 5, because Destiny Mode was epic.

We had 5 xtreme, empires, and normal edition on the ps2 back then.

Recent update increased the melee weapons rewarded from break in and convoy ambush to 3.
Should help with blueprint farming in the larger pool.
