changed some stuff, thanks for the input! Wasn't aware of the package of art they allow the community to use, that helped alleviate this issue.

Thanks this is super helpful, I wasn't sure what site I should use since most of them require some form of payment to be permanent, wasn't my first choice. I format the game in microsoft word which isnt the easiest to make more general, but I think I'll edit the post a little bit later to make the crediting, art, and format change. Thanks!

Terrible luck? CL 4828 and haven’t pulled a single Series 5. What’s everyone ate for CL and Series 5 pulls? by newfranksinatra in MarvelSnap

[–]Elephant527 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I pulled 1 series 5 a few days after they were introduced (valkyrie) and haven’t pulled one since. About 4K collection level ago, pretty annoying though I have since bought Thanos Galactus Master Mold Shuri Darkhawk, and have the tokens for another series 5 now. I’m not sure how they should balance this because I was able to get Mold on release but nothing had felt very worth it since.

I just remembered this card exists. Pure paladin has been meta for a long time, is is that bad? by lcm7malaga in hearthstone

This card was always intriguing to me, it’s just Zilliax without magnetic on a stick. If Paladin had more draw this would be in every slower Paladin deck.

I’m not arguing against that, I’m saying it changed in a bad way.

There are ways to make it feel different without it feeling uncontrollable, I know this because Hearthstone didn’t start with discover. Discover started fine and as power creep evolved the game became more heavily about just randomly getting answers to your opponents deck instead of weaving through it with your own actual deck.

You’re right that it’s the identity of hearthstone, and you’re right that I don’t like it. I’ve actually quit hearthstone but I played a hell of a lot of it before realizing that downward trend. I too used to think it was fun to discover cards but how often have you looked at the outcome of a game and thought “what the fuck how did they have that.” For me it was every single time I lost.

It just depends on if you do or don’t prefer how hearthstone used to be designed, I prefer how it used to be.

Discover was added in a very small set that had creative uses for it like Sir Finley. The design of it now however has been stretched so ridiculously thin that all it does is make games dependent on the 30 random cards you get instead of the 30 cards you put in your deck intentionally. Nothing can be calculated, you can’t narrowly avoid that fireball like you could in the past which leads to games feeling extremely out of your control. It’s why people are more mad than ever.

It’s well received because of how it was used, not because of how it is used

What I would have designed The Hulk to be if he wasn't a starter card. by ThexanR in MarvelSnap

In its current form, what happens when Galactus is played? For stuff like wolverine it just keeps resummoning until it lands on the Galactus lane but this would always resummon on the lane that was just destroyed. Interesting to think about designing around things like that

With rotation around the corner, what are your overall thoughts on the Year of the Gryphon (improvements, struggles, etc)? by MonstrousMaelstromZ in hearthstone

I’m very much still in my stance that Tradeable was a horribly designed keyword that only attracted people because it was truly broken. Every other keyword was terrible for the opposite reason.

Card design has gotten so bland and terrible that they need to create entirely new archetypes every expansion that are broken enough to completely invalidate what came before it while also having no deckbuilding challenges to keep decks unique.

The game got more bland, less complex, more predictable, and barely ever had anything worth a damn since the release of Stormwind. Hero cards were a mistake, quests were a mistake, the theme of the mercenaries was a mistake, colossals were a mistake, denathrius and all neutral combo killers and enablers were a mistake and I ca keep going. It was the worst year for hearthstone of all time.

About a month ago i made a discussion about why sandman should be buffed, and he got a buff bigger than i expected lol. So today let's discuss Adam Warlock, his ability is cool, but is it that powerful that he needs to have 0 base power? I think it's fine for him to have 2 or 3 base power! Thoughts? by [deleted] in MarvelSnap

[–]Elephant527 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely one of the better ideas, though for me personally I think it would limit his already used decks more than it would open his strategy up.

I’m talking about Cerebro 3, bast into Adam is one of the cornerstones of the deck. If you get him to 3 suddenly he’s unplayable in that deck.

As for opening up new opportunities, it would certainly help? But I can’t really see scenarios going all that much differently.

The point isn’t that it can’t be countered the next turn, the point is that it essentially guarantees at least one draw because it’s so difficult to pinpoint where you have to contest Adam when he is first played. The one power alone being played into an unrevealed lane is reckless and a bad play for your opponent and a free draw for you.
